If your X-main is bad, it could damage the Y boards. It's best to replace them all at once. I've got a few boards lying around from that lesson

Edit: It looks like you didn't select the correct boards on Shopjimmy.com; all the parts you selected are for the 42" Insignia. There should some part numbers on the boards. You can also enter your TV's model number to try to match parts: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...q=ns-50p650a11

Oops, this whole time I didn't realize I had entered in the 50" model. I have the 42" model, Insignia NS-42P650A11. So the parts should be right now that I corrected my mistake?

Yes, I believe those are correct. Check your boards to be on the safe side. Also, yes, the firmware should be updated after you install the boards. I can't remember if I was able to find the Insignia firmware on their site - don't believe so. There could be an available Samsung update, since this is basically a Samsung TV, but I'm unsure of compatibility.

This helped me as well. I am ordering parts and keeping fingers crossed.

It's been awhile, been busy with other things. I got around to ordering a new Y-Main board for this tv. If I install that one board for now will I be able to see if that fixes anything or do I need to wait an install the new Y-Main, Y-buffer, and X-main all at the same time?

I replaced the parts and the TV is now working. I'm not to sure how to go about doing the firmware upgrade. The model # of the tv I have is not found on the Samsung website. I must need to use an actual Samsung model #, not the Insignia model #?

Great to hear. I wasn't able to find the firmware for my Insignia.

I've been stalking this thread for a while as I had the same issue with a TV that I acquired from a buddy of mine. I replaced both my y-main and buffer, no change. Replaced the x-main, and something changed. It now seems to turn on and stay on after the initial click, the screen flashes on then off, and I have sound. No video, though. Any ideas what my new issue is?

I would say possibly a bad buffer.. The thing is now its hard to buy a good working buffer unless it's from a reliable source like shopjimmy. You can test the buffer yourself with a simple multimeter and it's beep function.

I already replaced the y-buffer as i stated, but i did get it off of e-bay, so it could be bad, but I'm not sure since replacing the x-main caused a distinct change in its condition.

One thing I thought was odd when I replaced the x buffer was that 3 of the black (microchips?) and 2 other spots on the backside of the board are darkened as if from heat. Both the old board and my new one look the same though, so I thought it was fine. See attached picture.

I've read all the information all you have given, but I'm still stuck on the same issue. When power button is pressed I hear the relay click 2 times but I get nothing. I have disconnected CN804 from the power supply and tried to turn it on, still the same clicks. Reconnected CN804 and disconnected CN5801 on the y main to the x main, still the same clicks. Reconnected CN5801 and disconnected CN801 from power supply to logic board, the power supply click on once for 20 seconds and then click off. I measured VS and I got 4.3V, on the VA I got 0.111V. These voltages goes up very slowly. I have replaced the logic and main boards. I also checked all the caps on the power supply with a ESR meter and they all checked out good. Any help would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

                            Hi everyone.

I have MacBook Pro A1708 with a confusing issue.
The laptop doesn't turn on. Strangely, the trackpad clicks and fan spins. Caps lock doesn't turn on and no chime.

Initially, the amp meter didn't turn on at all on one of the usb c ports. On the other port, I got 20V and half an amp tho (no battery connected).
I replaced the bad CD3215 chip and now it works as well. Both ports turn on with same amp readings.

                            The initial issue however remains.
No boot. No backlight. No chime. No keyboard. Only signs of life are clickable trackpad...

                            Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

Looking for some help please. Samsung UN75RU800DFXZA rebooting, no picture, clicks
                            by joel warren
TV was working fine and then just shutdown one day. It will not turn back on. I get a backlight for a little while, then it just clicks and won't fully boot.

I took off the back panel and did the basic troubleshooting and it seems like it's a panel issue.

The backlight will stay on if I disconnect either of the ribbon cables going to the panel. I've watched this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77tymvTJDxo) and am wondering if this could be the issue, just a bad cap on the panel.

                            Any assistance is appreciated.
