    Sony KDL-40P3600 3 blinks

Ok, got this tv some time ago, the fault was 3 red blinks upon plugging it in. 3 blinks for this model means power supply problem. Tested voltages on PS and 12V wasn't there. Stdby was ok.
So started to test PS for shorts and found that 12V line that goes to mainboard was shorted. Well, not 0 ohm short but somewhere arround 260 ohms . Started isolating components on 12V line and found CXD9969 which had 260 ohms between GND and VCC pin.
Ordered it from UT source, came today, soldered it in and TV is on and working

So, no problem wit this set, just wanted to share this, maybe this info will help someone to fix their TV with same error.

Used manual for 40s5600 because i couldn't find any for this particular model, but it is the same chassis (sony_kdl32_37_40s5600_chassis_ex2n-peppermint)

    Re: Sony KDL-40P3600 3 blinks

Thanks, this was really helpful. I couldn't find the service manual for a KDL-32P3600 anywhere.
Eventually I ended here, this service manual was valid for this TV model also.
In my case, there fail was red led 4 blinking 4 times.
Solution was to replace blown mosfets and fuse on the inverter.
    Regards

      Sony A1e 5-blinks help
      by jchon
Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
      https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

      Unfortunately the 5-blinks...

      Sony XBR-65X850D 2 Red Blinks
      by Nicktronic
      Hi all,

I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?

Any Sony experts out there that can help??...

Sony 75X9400E TV.. 5 Red blinks
      by dumbdd
I was using this TV for 5 years before it stopped working. I like this TV and would love to fix it myself.*

When I press the power button, the white led comes on (sony calls the module smart core) and then it switches over to 5 red blinks. No screen, no backlight, no relay click, nothing. I have disassembled the tv and found the service manual for 75x940e online. The manual suggests a faulty power board, TCON or the panel.**

The standby pin is at 3.3V. Fuses on the mainboard and TCON are fine. Caps on TCON also seem to be fine. When I turn on the tv the white led...

      Sony XR-55X90J 4 blinks
      by Nicktronic
Hey guys, got this Sony that turns on momentarily and then goes black with 4 blinks of the standby light. I can't find a service manual, but best guess was the Local Dimming board based on a similar TV saying LD_ERR or BCM_ERR. I found a replacement, but it didn't work. Before I put more money into replacement boards, Im wondering if anybody has seen this issue and what worked for them, or has the service manual for this specific TV.

      Thanks!...

Sony KD-60X690E 6 Blinks, no image
      by x_orange90_x
I just got this today and it has the infamous 6 blink code. I've read it's quite possibly bad backlights, and I intend to check them soon. However, I was just curious if the Sony logo should it's shouldn't be appearing briefly between powering on and the light starts flashing. I've read at least one other person had the logo flash quickly, but mine does not show anything at all, not even a flicker. The green light comes on and after about 5 seconds the red light flashes. So I'd expect in this 5 seconds to see the logo. This leads me to believe it could be a power supply issue.

      I...
