Picked up a Vizio xvt553sv yesterday, it freezes on the vizio logo on startup... After about 3 minutes it reboots it self and does the same thing. I assume this is a firmware issue, and of course vizio does not offer a firmware update for this tv. I know the problem is in the main board. Its gotta be fixable without replacing the whole main board, Im getting tired of Vizio's "firmware problems".

Re: Vizio xvt553sv Freezes on splash screen
I'm working on the same TV right now with a main board problem but its probably not the same problem as yours.
Can you do me a favor and tell me what is the serial is on the chip near the hdmi ports that read "silicon image"? Thanks
Also, when you disconnect the power cable and plug it back in, does the vizio logo blink white and orange for a number of times?Last edited by Glitcher; 11-05-2013, 06:29 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio xvt553sv Freezes on splash screen
N2M674-00-1 serial.
The vizio symbol flashing is exactly what the tv is supposed to do, mine does the same. It is rebooting itself and checking for any issues, I contacted Vizio directly about that issue. Flashes for about 80-90 seconds.Comment

Re: Vizio xvt553sv Freezes on splash screen
Usually the freezing of the splash screen is an EPROM issue on the main board. At least that's the case with the ones I've had.Doing this on the side to make some extra money for my daughters dance competition.Comment

Re: Vizio xvt553sv Freezes on splash screen
Can you buy a eeprom and just install it? I see the trade in service for the XVT553SV and the XVT473SV mainboards on ebay so i assume that the firmware is available somewhere.Craigslist Picks & Fixes

by Scruittl;dr ... Question: Does the Oak OTI067 have a splash screen / initialization message at bootup?
More detail:
Working on "Uncle Sherman", my Mitsubishi MP-3200 386 from 1988. Before I start up old computers I have a process where I disassemble, test for shorts, visually inspect, capture EPROM images etc.
My T866II+ give me a "pins not detected" error on the EPROM from the Oak-based (OTI067 GPU but apparently a no-name card??) I assumed the EPROM was bad, ordered a replacement and figured I'd program a downloaded ROM image to it....04-17-2022, 06:03 AM -
by bpcannanMy first real post...I have a Vizio M557-G0 where the left 1/3 of the screen fades to nearly black then not and I can view the entire screen and whatever is playing on the TV. Very rhythmic. Other than that sound is good, rest of picture is perfect. Opened up the back and did see any bubbled capacitors. Is it an LED backlight issue. I have factory reset it twice. Any insights appreciated. Hope the pic comes thru and shows the issue.
Thank you.

by bstewaraHi All,
Has anyone had the experience of replacing backights on the “P” series Vizio tv?
Model number P659-G1
This type tv has a very small bezel holding the screen in and I’m not sure how the bezel/screen is assembled. ( I’m hoping the screen is not epoxied to the frame)
Before I attempt this I thought maybe someone on this forum has performed this backlight replacement procedure.
Thanks in advance... -
by aazjoI have a MBP A1502 (early 2015, 820-4924) with a screen that will not turn on. I have swapped screens with a cracked test screen and the computer boots and the cracked screen works for both backlight and image. The black/blank screen appears to do nothing.
I have collected resistant data from the cracked screen connector pins and submitted to OBData server:

by maxim2511My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.
Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher... - Loading...
