philips 37pfl5522d lcd tv.flashing red light

Hi all hope someone can give me some advice.Tv wont come on from stand-by.Blue light goes off then red light will have 1 long flash follow by 2 quick flashes and then keeps repeating sequance.
Read alot on here about bad capacitoirs and resisters. Are these on the psu board or on the av board. Also seen someone mention about a resistor 3318??
Could do with some help with the best solution, have found an psu board and an av board for £30 each for this model.
Would it be best to change the board and which one or to try and change the capacitors or resistor.
    Looking forward to some advice.

2 flashes (ignore long flash) is 12V fault, common fault is a bad cap on PSU on some Philips LCDs.

Can you provide some pictures of the set's boards and also of the model number tag which should have the chassis number e.g. Q533.7LA (near 37PFL5522D/xx)

Chassis number usually on same sticker as "37PFL5522D".
I cannot see anything in those pictures, as I do not have this TV in front of me, I am therefore working blind.

I don't know but I do recall both Philips and Delta making power supplies for this set -- if all connectors are the same (I can't tell you if they are) then it should be fine.

Are you talking about just the electrolytic caps here or are any of the other types of caps known to suffer from any problems?

I have ordered a set of Panasonic caps to replace my Lelon ones in my 42PFL9603D. As I wrote in https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...255#post373255, four of the seven Lelons did not exhibit great results when measuring them in-circuit using a cheap ESR meter, but not badly enough for me to think that they are actually at fault.

But - without desoldering any components - I have not found anything obviously wrong so I am still crossing my fingers, hoping that the electrolytic cap replacement will be enough. I will probably know by the end of this week.

                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                          by tuner2000i
                          hello everyone,

I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.

The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.

                          Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
                          See attached picture.

I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
