Oops! I cracked my screen putting Sony Bravia KDL-32l4000 back together

Talk about bad luck. I bought a Sony Bravia KDL-32L4000 for $50 today. I took it all apart and determined that it probably was the tcon board and not the panel that was causing the vertical lines and flickering. Then I cracked the panel somehow. Its not too bad, lower right corner, about the size of a quarter. Kills any chance of selling it for a profit though.

Anybody know where I can get a replacement panel? I checked Sony's website and one of their authorized parts suppliers wants over $1700. Are they crazy? I could probably buy 6 brand new 32" TVs for that amount

For now I'll have to look for a new project.

Finding a replacement panel at a reasonable price is a long shot. Since it's a 32", you might be able to find one on eBay; I got my 26" panel there.

    Oh, so close: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-Backlig...item5d4081081f

Thank you for the info and the links. Unfortunately, I'm currently suspended from eBay. Not for any wrong doing though. I just have to fax them my ID, PayPal statement and bank statement so they can verify my identity. Not sure why but probably because I've used 3 different debit cards in about 2 months and have had items shipped to about as many addresses. Really sucks too because I buy everything on eBay. Well, I guess I will go to kinkos tomorrow and hope the panel is still available when my acct gets reinstated. I'm told it will take about 3 days.

Edit: The eBay link isn't for the screen. Only the backlight.

The panel on eBay doesn't appear to match your TV, which is why I mentioned "so close". It's for the KDL-32L5000 model.

I'm not sure but i think the KDL-32L4000 and KDL-32L5000 may use the same screen. I saw a screen for the 5000 and it was the same part number as mine. Already sold though.

Edit: a quick search now leads me to believe they may not be the same.

It's more important to match the S-LCD, AUO, ChiMei etc number not same model as TV. Written on back of LCD panel.

The panel on eBay for which I provided a link appears to still be available. However, when I looked through some of ShopJimmy's listings for the 4000, the panel version is different.

On two separate occasions, I have successfully swapped the LCD screen from one panel to another very similar panel, along with the t-con for that LCD screen, to fix a TV with a cracked screen. One time, I had to cut a little of the metal case. The other time, I had to drill a couple holes for screws.

Re: Oops! I cracked my screen putting Sony Bravia KDL-32L4000 back together

OK, I'm home from work now. I just opened the set again to get the part numbers for the panel and figured out how I cracked it. When I had the frame off, I set the TV upright so I could inspect the tabs and the panel board. Then I did something stupid. Rather than lay the TV back down, I put the frame back on while it was upright. This caused the panel to not be seated properly and it cracked when I put the screws in because it got pinched. Its a tough lesson to learn but it could have been worse, like if it was a more valuable TV. In a way it makes me feel better knowing exactly what I did wrong because I can avoid making this mistake in the future. I hope someone will read this and avoid making the same mistake I did. Pic attached.

Now, as for the part numbers, I found 3 sets of numbers on the panel board. The numbers are:

                      1) 94V-0 0752 072-A
                      2) J2312E8D03HC 004512 (on sticker)
                      3) 320AB02S2LV0.3 (This would be my guess as the part number.

I've attached pics of all the numbers too.

Hopefully, I will have my eBay acct back in a few days. I faxed them everything they requested today. Cost me $40 to fax 21 pages at Kinkos. That hurt a little but I'm lost without eBay.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

i have this sony bravia kdl-43w755c which boot loops. After sony logo, it shows the android animation loading then it restarts…
from what i read online it looks to be an emmc issue…
i’m not familiar with this kind of tv repairs… i’m repairing laptops and gpu’s…
i took out the board and say an samsung 16gb emmc
                        i don’t have an exact replacement, but i have a few 32 and 64gb emms’s from laptops…
i could try to put one instead of the 16gb one, but will it work?
where do i get the software from?
any help will be much appreciated!...

Previous owner said TV just went blank one day.
They attempted to open the back panel and yanked the power connector off the power supply in the meantime.
Easily fixed that and got the TV to turn on. Backlights come one with everything connected. Good Sign.
The mainboard shows signs of life (red light on digital audio out is on) but that's about it. Good Sign.
There is not blinking LED and the most importantly there is LED response and sound when I press the MENU button on remote control. GREAT Sign.
