Good to see another North Carolina resident here Yeah, the mainboard fixed it, in fact, I've been using the TV as my main TV since replacing that board, without even a hiccup. I finally sold the broken DLP, and will be putting up a new 65" LED in a week or so and finally moving this TV up to the bedroom.

On my samsung(different model tho) I couldn't find the eeprom either.
Had to remove the mainboard and on the backside of the board I found these "test points"..I soldered wires on them so that I could connect them with mainboard installed in tv...

I have LN46C670M1FXZA, the symptoms are the same as in original post. I found this tread and was trying to fix it. I also can't find eeprom but found those test points. Not sure if I jumpered correct ones, I took advice from here http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/UnB...EPROM_Location
Connected SDA and 3.3V, but that didn't help. Should connect it differently?
Also, I was looking for replacement board on ebay. This board has 3 numbers on it, one printed on the board, and two on stickers. Only one board on ebay that matches all 3 is very expensive - $150, but I could find board for $50-60 if it matches only printed number on board, but stickers numbers are not the same. They also coming from different size of TVs - 55" and 40". I will post pics of one I saw on ebay and one from my TV - they look identical. Is it OK to buy that one? First one from the left - board from ebay, second one - from my TV. Sellers says it came from LN55C630K1FXZA.

I realize this is an old post but I have a LN40B650T that seems to power up fine until the backlights start to reach full voltage, then just shuts down. Does that indicate a bad backlight? How can I tell which one?

It tries to power up as soon as I plug it in but the standby light comes on if I power down after it fails. It tries to power up through the same sequence every time I hit the power button on the set or the remote.

Does it power up when you disconnect the backlights?
