EEPROMs are typically 24Cxxxx where xxxx is any number such as 02, 16, 256, 1025, ...

hmmm, I looked back over the pictures I posted of the board, I don't see anything labeled that clearly to say "hey, test here!" Oh well. Sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for the new board to arrive.

        Hi Tom!

I was actually looking over that site last night. According to all the documentation I could find, and even according to Samsung, on this board it's supposed to be a 24C02. 24C02 is typically an 8-pin IC, I checked every 8-pin I could fine on that board, and none of them was labeled 24C02.

They are interchangeable, did you see any 8 pin IC marked "24" and some other characters?

negative. I did just notice on that samygo page, one of the LE*B series shows the IC as being an ATMLH942, and I think I did see one of those, I'll check again tonight.

SO )*&#$(*#&$#Q@&$ PO'd right now. Word of advice - avoid eBay seller "parts4pros". Agreed to the price on the mainboard, then waited until today, when the other one at a similar price was gone, and refunded my money, claiming the part was a relisting after someone else had bought and returned it and now they can't find it in the warehouse. Says he'll let me know if they find it. Wait till he sees his feedback. UGH!.

Still gotta find that eeprom, but kids need to eat dinner, and I have the SPMS for my Samsung DLP to recap first!

Good news, I found another board, it's going to cost me the same for the board, but an extra $10 for shipping, so that's been ordered and is on its way. In the meantime, going to try to find that EEPROM.

ok, I think I may have figured it out... of the 8-pin ICs on the board, several of them are all ATMEL chips. I found (2) ATMLH852s, (1) ATMLH848, and (1) ATMLH842. When I search for any of them, I keep getting redirected to the same few sites that have no information. When I search for the ATMLH842, along with the package code (2eb) it takes me to a 24C02 datasheet. I'm going to try that one out today and see what happens.

Well, if that was the chip, either the EEPROM reset didn't do the trick, or it didn't help. I'm sure there has to be a replaceable component causing this issue, I just have no idea what or where.

My personal opinion with all these "bricked" Samsungs is the firmware on the main board is getting corrupted perhaps due to a software bug or perhaps due to a faulty firmware update.

from what I've been seeing, people have hacked firmwares out there for these things, to allow additional smart apps than what the TV normally allows. I'm betting that's where a lot of it comes from, too. In this case, I wasn't sure if the guy I bought it from had tried to do something like that or not, so I figured I'd try the EEPROM reset just as a way of weeding out possibilities.

One thing I noticed that it didn't do before, but appears to do now, trying to turn it on from the front panel does nothing, but when using the remote the standby light will turn off, but the TV still doesn't light up.

New mainboard is in, and it looks *GORGEOUS*. My wife is already talking about wanting to replace the DLP with and LCD now. Speaking of the DLP, it's in the background of the second and third pics, and the third pic also contains the little hands that pressed the power button on the DLP for that last, fatal time. Now that I have the new mainboard, I'll tinker with pulling components off the old one and testing them to see what might have failed. Thanks again for all the help! If/when I'm able to figure out what went wrong with the old board, I'll post here and let you all know.

No problem. Once I get that DLP running again, this puppy is going up on the bedroom wall!

He has truly gone above and beyond to make things right in this situation, and thanks to his kindness and generosity, I have the LED Driver board for my DLP TV on its way to me now.

Thanks Tom, I was digging around trying to find that. That's why I quoted it and added the comment, this guy really did go above and beyond, I mean REALLY above and beyond. He compensated me for the board I had to buy, he was actually going to buy the LED Driver for the DLP, but it sold out, so he sent me more than enough money to buy it from another distributor who had it in stock. Needless to say, I revised my feedback for him. If you are looking for parts, he really does want to make sure his customers are happy!

I'm having identical symptons as you on a LN40B550. I'm thinking the main board is the culprit, too. Did you ever figure it out? By the way, I left Raleigh in '78 and now live at Hilton Head. Still get up there to visit folks who live near Meredith college. Thanks for any help you can give.

I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

                                            Hey Everyone,

So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

Hi guys, I’m back here my friend give me her tv, that doesn’t turn on and no standby red led. When u plug in the cord the red led of one two second is on, then turn off. If you push the power button or the remote the red led blinks but nothing happen. I give u some photo with voltage, don’t look the fuse….because I blow it for mistake nd I dint have the right replace so I just put it for test the tv. The standby voltage should be 11,88 volt on the diode, but I have 13 volts. I put in the photo the different volts I test and there are someone negative…I don’t know if it s normal. On...

Samsung UN70tu7000wxza no standby light, do I have bad capacitors?

I picked up a 70" Samsung UN70TU7000WXZA. The original owner said they were watching it when the power surged and knocked it out. I pulled the back off the TV and disconnected the main board from the power board, and the LED backlight came on, which I was told meant the power board was good. When everything is plugged in the standby light will not come on, looking at the main board BN94-17775A with a thermal imaging gun I can see one of the chips labeled 3202 is 251 degrees F just sitting idle. I found a replacement board, BN94-16115X; this board has the same symptoms, except it is a different...
