Samsung LN32B650T1FXZA does not power on

Hello, have a few questions. I have the follwing tv and it does not power on. the power on led on the front flashes but not in a patern. i did a quick diagnostics I opened up back cover to inspect caps on power module and they all look good. when I disconect white ribbon cable to main board the backlight on the set turns on. I pluged it back in backlight goes off. i went further and and disconected ribbon cable going to the t-con board. backlight goes back on and now I have the sound (Samsung Chime) from power up, still have front power led flashing on and off ramdomly and no picture. question is where do i start trouble shooting or whats the most common isue with this set. I also would like to find a service manual for it.. any one help me out... Thanks..

quick note. as i was doing a visual inspection i found I had one of the inductors (L1501) casing broken. I followed the trace and it goes to audio out speakers. dont think this could be the cause but i would like to replace it any one familiar it i would like a part number..

    Thanks

Can you post pics of the board layout? Off hand, it sounds like a bad t-con or main board (main board seems more likely). Check your t-con fuse.

        Here's the fuse.

That inductor doesn't look good. I may have misunderstood your problem statement and tests. Did you try connecting the main board to the power supply and disconnecting the t-con from the main board when you got the chime and a backlight?

          yes sure did..

PS + Main Board + tcon = no picture no sound

PS + Main Board = backlight plus startup sound

Does your t-con fuse check out?

I tried to search for your model num in Tom's database, but I couldn't find any service manuals by that model num. Here's the closest I could find: http://www.toms-service-manuals.com/...&Search=Submit

The parts list for the LN32B530 shows L9001 on the main board as 15uH. I'm not sure if this is the same part. Someone else can suggest a good replacement. The inductor has the following info:

                Code No: 2704-000018
                Description and Spec: INDUCTOR-SMD-ARRAY;15uH,2000mA,2,0.124oh

I've had shorted t-cons on these stop the TV from powering up. However, it's a good idea to isolate the panel as well, in case a short on the panel is causing the problem.
