I wasn't sure if you'd tried this already, but you can disconnect the control board from the main board to see if anything changes with the PSU.

The logic control board is the small board to the left of the power supply.

Edit: I forgot that this TV uses a scaler and an AV board. The cable runs from the scaler board to the logic board.

So, get this. I finally got the board, and it arrives broken. The guy I bought it from didn't package it properly and it had one of it's corners cracked where the grounding metal touches. So when I put it in (just for the heck of it) it just turns off immediately tripping the bad part sensor. lol I'm hoping to get a new one sooner though.

I'm not surprised that the control board arrived broken if it wasn't shipped in a box. A lot of sellers do that to save money.

Well they shipped it in a box, they just didn't use the right protection in the box. I've been waiting on the guy to reply for almost a week. Luckly I bought it on eBay so if he doesn't replay soon, eBay will take care of it for me.

I don't mean to jump in . I am having the exact problem your having I have a 50HP66 also; changed psu to no avail . voltages at va and vs dropping and clicking off. I've tried to disconnect each board one at a time no luck . I now found if I disconnect the av from psu it doesn't shut down . hope this might help . if I find out what it is i'll let you know thanks

Well I installed the board today, and the TV works now. The only thing is that there is a bar of grayish color that flickers at the top of my TV. Any ideas about what that could be?

Nevermind, it started working. I guess it just needed to get some juice flowing through it after being unplugged for 3 months. lol

We got this TV for free and it was working fine for the most part up until about a month ago. I haven't really had time to do anything about it til recently. Before it stopped working completely it would turn on and off until it warmed up, we'd speed this up by using a hair drying and point it towards the capacitors.

Well long story short, it finally went off one day while my wife was watching it, and it....never turned back on! :O

Since then I've taken the back off of it and played with the voltage nobs (to no avail sadly) on it, and checked out all the capacitors on it. None of them are bulged or burnt looking. Anyone have any ideas about what it could be? I'm not afraid to solder or take anything apart on it, I've done soldering before and it's not that bad. If it's gonna cost me like $1000 I'll just put it to the curb.



I've uploaded a couple of photos for you guys to help, let me know if you need anything else. The first one is of what the TV looks like if it manages to stay on long enough to get a picture. It doesn't say "please wait thank you for your patience" anymore before it turns on. The second one is the Power Supply Board. The third is the lights that turn on in the back before it turns off. The one off by itself near the bottom flickers the whole time it's on.
