As long as you do not unplug the set while upgrading, it's hard to screw it up.

If I could get my tv on to the internet is there a way to do it directly?

As far as I know, only through SD card or USB.

Done. A bit nerve wracking. Was at 2030 now2220.
Thank you for all the help. My wife thinks I am smart.
Next is a Acer 26 LCD with a broken on off switch.
Asked the local Source store when I was getting the SD cards if ever they have flats screens heading to the dump let me know. He gave me this return along with the original box and manuals just have to phone for the remote today.

My tcp50st30 does not have any fans and it was one of the warmest days of the year when it died although my basement is never that hot. Would it be worth attaching a couple of fans on it? Or am I getting too paranoid.?

No fans? Panasonic used to include fans in all their models... a plasma which is as thin as this would really do with having fans.

I saw them at the top on some of the photos on the forum. Mine is rated at 341 watts. I think I will put a couple of muffin fans to assist in bottom to top flow.

341 watts... My 480 watt older generation (2008, yours is 2011) 46" uses four fans and it has a fat chassis with plenty of air flow. I bet most of these Panasonics are dying due to heat.

My daughter in law has being doing battle with Sears and Panasonic on my behalf ( they bought the tv for me). Panasonic did not even return calls but Sears has come through with 300$ in gift cards. This will cover the repairs!
I am so happy to still be able to use my Sears card. Thank you Sears , I will buy some 3d glasses.

That's nice of the retailer to contribute. You don't have to use Panasonic 3D glasses on this. Most $20 universal glasses will work.

I purchased this TV hoping I could repair it and use it in my man cave. I knew the TV wouldn't power on when I bought it, but I figured $100 was a fair price to see if I could make it work. When I got it home and plugged it in, the red LED powered up but no screen image and none of the buttons worked on the TV or Remote, and I couldn't turn it back off without unplugging the cord. After reviewing the issue online, I plugged it back in, turned it on, waited for the red LED to appear, and then held the Power Button on the unit in for 5 seconds or so and that's when I first got the 14 blinks. Downloaded the service manual for this model and discovered the 14 blinks was related to a faulty main board. I ordered a replacement board off eBay for $75 and hooked it all up. Now instead of a blinking LED, I get no LED at all but a relay that clicks every 7-8 seconds or so. Just to experiment I hooked up the old main board to the set, powered it up and got the blinking LED again. Re-connected the replacement board and still just the clicking relay with no LED.

I'm not a technician and I don't own a voltmeter, but it seems to me if there were an issue with the power, I wouldn't be getting any LED or relay clicking at all. I'm wondering if I purchased a bad replacement board, or if it could simply be a blown fuse (there are 5 of them, all ceramic). The service manual isn't much help in this area and the fuses aren't held in by clips but by end-caps which I'm afraid of damaging if I try to remove them needlessly.

I'm hoping someone out there has solved a similar problem or has some thoughts on how I should proceed before spending more money replacing things that don't need replaced.

The answer lies within this thread.

Most likely Shorted vsus on startup due to failed SC board. You can confirm this by disconnecting SC2 cable and measure the resistance across the pins at the SC board.

If you disconnect SC2 and try to turn on it should attempt to startup and then quit with a blink code.

As for the replacement A board, send it back if you can. not sure about the different reaction to your original so it maybe faulty anyway. Is the board the same model and revision(TNPH0912AS or TNPH0912AC)?

you won't know until the SC is good. I don't expect you'll be needing the new board but you need to confirm if it is the SC board.

fairly common fail with these , If you have a 55" model, SJ has plenty but none for the 50".

A few have had sucess with repairing the board themselves.

Thanks for the quick response tw2005. I'll disconnect the SC2 cable and see if that generates a blink code. The replacement board was the same suffix (AC). I made the mistake of ordering an incorrect suffix (AT) previously which I found out was for a 55" unit. When I connected it I still had the 14 blink. I was figuring this newest board I received was DOA and will be sending it back.

Unfortunately nothing seems to resolve my issue. I bought a multimeter last night to test for any fails and followed the Technical Service Manual but couldn't find any solutions.

I haven't found anything online that describes what causes a relay to simply keep cycling over and over.

is not that only with the replacement A board? original & 55" gave 14?

I have encountered that and for me it was a bad(shorting ) SPI Flash chip on the A board caused by my poor choice of flux, TV continually rebooted. When i fixed it, my ROM Read/error count was 114, normally 0.

Correct. The original A board had the 14 blink issue, I ordered a replacement but didn't get the correct suffix (AT when what I needed was AC). I didn't realize the error until I installed and tried the TV and it had the exact same issue (14 blinks). I was able to return the incorrect board and ordered 2nd replacement board with the correct suffix, and upon installing it simply got the relay clicking continually (no LED lighting up at all).

Before I send this newest board back, I wanted to make certain it's not something else, or at least have reasonably simple way to test if the board is itself is junk

Again, this is all brand new to me and I'm learning as I go. I don't have the tools nor expertise to fix a board at the component level, bit am comfortable swapping out capacitors or something simple like that. I'm also watching some YouTube videos to self educate on how to use a multmeter. I definitely appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge. I'm actually having my two teenage sons help me with this and we are learning together.

Interesting....With the original A board installed, I disconnected SC2 as suggested and then plugged the TV in. I used the power button on remote to turn the TV on, I hear the the click, the red LED lights up, but that it's...just like it has been doing. But hitting the power button again turns the TV off (confirmed by a soft click a few seconds later). Reconnecting SC2 brings back the 14 blink issue. Does this indicate a bad SC board perhaps?

Also, not positive I did it right, but the multimeter read 0.3 - 0.1 (bounced around a bit...it is a $40 multimeter so not expecting it to be too precise) when testing the resistance of the SC2 pins on the SC board. I don't know what value you'd expect to find.

SC2 is shorted then and is most likely the fault. Try disconnecting SC2 and SC20 ribbon.

THEN power up, should be 8 blinks. If it does then fairly confident only the SC but buffers should be checked also.

because i don't know the set well enough this may or may not work , disconnect sc2, ss11, p35 and 3 white ribbons at the A board and powerup.

hopefully turns on but some of these have the signals routed different so may not

TV could be locked out but with these new tvs I only know what i've read and so far either locked solid led or the 14 blink has been the SC shorted so the advice I've given has worked out but as always there can be an exception.

I'm sure we'll work it out eventually. You've tried 2 boards with 14 blinks so that's a good sign it's not the A, the clicking board just confuses things a little but I suspect it was dud.

Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance

Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
                                            https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

                                            Unfortunately the 5-blinks...

                                            Greetings friends,

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX75U manufactured in 2007. It has been trouble-free until recently. One evening I turned it on and it then powered back off and gave 7 blinks.

First a question about the blinks. Everyone only speaks of a single number of blinks. I noticed on my TV, it blinks one fewer times for the first group of blinks, then blinks the full number repeatedly. So for my first code in question, the TV switches off, blinks 6, then blinks 7 repeatedly. When I disconnected the SC board, the TV switches off, blinks 7, then blinks 8 repeatedly....
