Re: Philips 50pfp5532d - no picture but sound

I've been putting this off for a number of days, but with a bit of liquid courage, I took the TV apart again and got to the PSU.

I couldn't find any fuses other than the ones I'd already tested. No visible signs of damage on either side of the PCB.

There are two sets of components that do look like they have burnt out. They're attached to the heat sinks, and are surrounded by a halo of black material. It could just be dust but it's not as easy to remove with compressed air as other areas.

Here's some close up pictures of one of the components

The markings on it seem to say XB60 B (or 8) 107D and the component is labelled as B08102 on the PCB. Hard to make out whats printed on the component next to it, but the PCB refers to it as B08101. I tried googling the markings but got no definite answer.

The second set of components the "burnt out" part seems more like a dark thermal pad, but I can scrape it off so I'm not sure. They're located on the third heat sink from left and both have the markings FDA, H51 and 18N50.

It seems to be this component:

Do these components look damaged? How can I test them?

Okay...there seems to be a variable resistor that controls the Vs voltage. According to whats printed on the board, turning it clockwise increases Vs. Can't I just use that to "fix" the low voltage?

You have a failure somewhere that needs to be corrected. Manually adjusting the voltages will not work.

I've got the exact same fault as this guy and its driving me insane. Does anyone else have some insight into this? There is a 3leg 7815a voltage reg in close proximity of the cap which seemed to measure fine. (Took out of circuit and compared to another on the board) All same resistance between legs etc. T
