    LG- 42LK450-UB.CUSY.LH Snowy Display

History: I replaced the Main Board and Power Supply. The TV now powers up but the display, including menus, is snowy. I replaced the T-Con board and that had no effect. The power-up screen / time screen is clear which makes me think the screen is not damaged. Could I have gotten a wrong replacement main board? firmware? Any help will be appreciated.

    Original Main board : EBU61369602
    Replacement : EBR73308816

Can we see the time screen? Odd that the main menu is affected but not the time screen?

Very bad picture, but it flashes off so fast its hard to catch it. But the LG and blank time are clear with a solid black background. Then the "no signal" animation starts with the snow..

      Thank you for the help!

Hmm... If you turn down the TV's backlight or brightness setting does it reduce? (crazy idea)

Changing the brightness has no effect.

Does that mean it could be the main board?

It looks like a main board issue to me, but first I would try a factory reset:

Hold MENU on TV and MENU on remote. Hold for around 10 seconds.

If password prompt shows type 0000 or 1234.

When the service menu appears, select the RESET option.

I had a 32" samsung that had a similar problem. The previous owner had replaced the main board with one from a 46" set. He used the number on the board, not the one on the sticker. Maybe the same problem?

That is my thought too. The board with matching numbers was for a 42lk520 not a 42lk450.. If the factory reset suggested above doesn't work I will order another board and give it a shot. I also wondered about a firmware issue. This model came with either a VA or IPS screen...I am not knowledgeable enough to understand if that would be a factor.

OK, let's try the alternate method. Open the main menu by pressing MENU (on remote or set), release the key, then hold MENU on the set. If the menu goes away, try opening the menu again but repeat with MENU being held on the remote control.

Hmm, in which case, this might be a sign the main board is bad in some way or the combination is different for this set.

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                                          Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                                          🧩 Problem Summary:
                                          • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                                          • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                                          • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.
                                          • I

                                          Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?

Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                                          CN6401
                                          Pin 01 NC
                                          Pin 02 NC
                                          Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                                          Pin 04 "N/C"
                                          Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                                          Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                                          Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

                                          Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....
