Does the screen glow, visible in a dark room?

Right now it's not dark, but i'm sure that there wasn't any glow.

You can check the VS and VA high voltage to see if the power supply is working or not.

hm..okay so I got the new main board and put it in. connected everything back plugged it in and it started cycling through the test pattern. I thought well that's odd so I redid the step you had me do earlier minus the bridging And it still went through the test pattern. Only now I have white noise with the pattern where as I didn't beforeComment

I dbl checked all that and I can't find anything that seems to be wrong....I even put the old board back in and without the jump it still does the test pattern too. only without sound.Comment

One final thing to try, hold MENU on set and MENU on remote for 10 seconds do you see a menu prompting for password? If so enter 1234 or 0000 and see if you can turn off a test pattern option, if not a control board may be the only way to fix it.Please do not PM me with questions! In the upper-right hand corner, there are two jumper wires labeled "VS TP" and "VA TP". Place your positive lead on each of those, respectively, and place your negative lead on a metal part of the TV chassis.

I got the numbers.
The meter was set to DC voltage = 20V - VS was shifted from 5.4 - 6.3
VA was between 5.0-7.0 with DC voltage = 200mV.
So, what the numbers mean?Comment

Sorry if this is too repetitive, or in the wrong place.
I'm new, and having much the same problem. My LG50PA5500 TV has been working flawlessly since new. The other day, while in the midst of watching a broadcast DTV channel, the entire screen suddenly and silently went dark (no snaps, crackles or pops); sound, channel selection and inputs all work OK.
I have checked connections and voltages from: stdby, pwr supply board fuses, psb output voltages to Zsus board and its fuse, output voltages from Zsus to Ysus and its fuse. All precisely normal!! I've also checked voltages to the...06-19-2021, 06:36 PM -
Got it for free on marketplace because it stopped working after a storm.
When I began troubleshooting the power supply, I fried 2 fuses and a mosfet by shorting 2 pins on accident, but I've replaced those components.
The tv had a soundbar connected, which was also killed by the storm. On the tv side I found a transistor shorted on the hdmi 2 (arc) and a lot of capacitors shorted on the main board.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the psu to main board cable, while still being connected to 120 V AC, would wake things up, such as a red light from the optical... -

I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.

Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...
