    I will look at that when I'm home, but I won't have time to take measurements today.
    Thank you for helping me.
    I have just sold last night the same exact TV. I had two.

      Re: Sony KDL-46EX400 2 blink error code

      Too bad you did not take the voltage reading on Inverter_errror (oR bl_Error), LD, FB, etc.
      According to the typical SONY signals training maual:
      FB = 200~400mVac RMS
      LD = 11~12vdc
      Inverter_Error = 0V

      If we can get the chassis number then I can look for the training manual.

        I have opened it up so many times and I was swapping boards, that I got tired of it. I didn't want to mess up that one too.

          OK, this is how the board functions. I can explain in details as needed.

                It may be on the sticker where it shows the model number, I just want to make sure since we are not using the SCH of the EX400 but the EX402 that you have indicated it closely match your board. That way we are not looking at the wrong components and the connections if the EX402 SCH does not match your board.

                    Right now you can go by the notes I made in the SCH and start checking those test points I made.

                      I had a couple of minutes and measured a couple of points.
                      Basically the power supply turns on and then off.
                      384V turns on and then off. LD goes to 12V and then toward 0V. I'm not getting anything at FD.
                      I don't see Inverter Error, only BL_Error, which is 3.2V and not 0V.

                        Since the LD goes to 0V(from the initial 12V) it means that it entered in protection mode? This error could shut down the PS?
                        Also the Inverter_Error is not 0V, it's 3,2V, which is not good, am I right?
                        I could have a tube issue?
                        Should I take the panel apart?

                          I haven't had time to do those measurements yet.
                          I'm thinking about this TV and something doesn't add up.
                          I have purchased two boards until now and both times when I installed them, they worked that afternoon.
                          Next day or at a later time(2 weeks) when I try to turn it on, it doesn't want to turn on and throws the 2x blink error code.
                          I have transferred these boards into the other same exact (good) Sony TV (which I had it for a while, I don't have it any more) and it showed the same exact 2x error code.
                          So, if in the good TV everything is good, then why it shows the 2x error code?
                          But if the board is bad, then why it works the first time when I install it?
                          Almost sounds as incompatible board, no? If I look up shopjimmy and use there info, then it seems like I'm buying the right board.
                          I also do a firmware update when I get them.
                          To me, it seems like the mainboard is the issue. Then, how come three mainboards (one which it was the original board) show the same exact symptom?

                            2x error is backlight? Too many errors may build up and need clearing due to B/L fault.

                              How would you clear it?
                              I have a feeling that a previous error is causing this.
                              It doesn't give me enough time to do a reset.
                              As I plug in the cord, it clicks on and then off and shows the blinks.

                                I guess any way to clear it would be described in the service manual or from an external Sony jig -- no idea myself.

                                  I can't reset anything, until the TV it's not running.
                                  In the manual, 2 blinks means power supply failure.
                                  I still don't know which chassy I have.
                                  There is this manual also:

                                    Per 46ex400 manual, 2 blinks is the power supply error, but it does not have the sch, the other sch I used as a ref does not seem to match your board. What is the P/N of your power supply board, then we can find out at shopjimmy to see what other models use the same board then we can try locating the service manual or training manual for it. I look at a bunch of SONY manual, 2-blink of one chassis does not apply to another chassis, in your case, it means power supply fault, other chassis means backlights problems.

                                      Check out this at shopjimmy:
                                      http://www.shopjimmy.com/sony-1-474-...repair-kit.htm
                                      I will have to check those transistors. I may just get these and I will replace them.

                                        This board is available on Ebay:

                                        Should I bother repairing the board, or just get this one? It's right here in my town too.

                                          According to SJ, 46hx701 uses the same power supply/inverter board, so here is the training manual for chassis AZ1L.
                                          It said something about 12V regulated power supply problem that can cause 2x error. The kit has MOSFETs and Diodes which looks like they are for the PFC section, not for the 12V section.

                                            For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
                                            See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...

                                            Hello badcaps forum.

                                            I have a Sony KDL-52Z4500 TV that needs a little trouble shooting. History of the TV: I bought it about 14 years ago. One year ago, I took it off the wall to move to another house. During the past year it sat in its original packaging - even with the thin film plastic bag/cover that it gets shipped in, cardboard box and all. Last week I unpacked it to mount it in the garage for my wife's gym that she has setup. Turned it on, set up a chormecast on it for her, and all was good for a week running like always (brownie points for me from the wife ).

                                            Symptoms. Hit power, white light shows briefly and then 5 blink red code. TCON issue per chart on first picture.

                                            I'm thinking I have a power board issue though, which is one of the options

                                            I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
                                            It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

                                            So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
                                            After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...
