Ok got the master today replaced it and same issue? Bad cffl's?

That is a possibility. What is the part # on the inverter controller IC?

            Re: Sanyo DP42848

I have a dp42848 with the same problem. However I did notice that if I held my meter leads on the 2 wires going to the bulbs (pink and white) and powered on the tv, the picture stayed on. Looking at the back of the tv with the cover off it is the inverter on the right side. Does this mean that the inverter is bad? Is it repairable?

              Re: Sanyo DP42848

You shouldn't stick your meter across there, you have probably damaged it due to the 3000V or so between those points.

                Re: Sanyo DP42848

Don't think it damaged it or made a difference except possible showing me that it was the slave board that's bad. I measured the other one when turning the power on and during the few seconds it was one before blacking out it only went to 27V. Like I said when I hold the two leads on them and power on the TV it works fine. When removing them it goes back to what the original issue is......Inverters. Only reason I posted was to see if someone had an idea on what may be bad on the inverter at component level or a schematic so I could replace it. Probably just order the inverter kit.

                  Re: Sanyo DP42848

I replaced both boards and it still does the same thing. I think I will take it down to the cffl level and see if I have a bad bulb or two.

If your meter showed 27V on a 3000V output, then it has probably failed internally; continue using it at your own risk.

OK tore it down and it appears I have a couple bad bulbs. Going to try some from my donor sets.

Did you turn it on and see what bulbs look like?

Ok replaced the bad bulbs and this is what I have for about 2 seconds then off. Already replaced both slave and master

It looks like one of your boards is still bad, or there is a loose connector between one side of the lamps and the inverter.
