    Toshiba 40UL605U Won't power on

Picked up a Toshiba 40UL605U LED. Symptoms are when you hit power button all lights blink once and then nothing. Initial testing shows

    5v 5.143
    5v 5.143
    G 0ohm
    G 0hm
    PWON 0
    BLON 0
    DIM 0
    24v 0
    12vcc 0
    G 0 ohm
    G 0 ohm
    ACD 0

    I'm thinking power supply issue

    why ps?

could be main ssb board, i.e no PWON signal

Re: Toshiba 40UL605U Won't power on

It's not turning the power supply on (PWRON) so I'd be aiming more at main board myself.

Can I jumper the 5.1 V to the BWON to turn set on?

PWON... yes. Use a 100 to 470 ohm resistor in series to limit the current.

Check PWON actual voltage, and did you use resistor?

yes 270 ohm resistor. Are you talking 5.143 voltage after resistor?

when I apply voltage to the PWON it drops from 5.1 to .55v on the PWON side of the resistor with the main board connected

When I jumper 5v to PWON I now get 12v on the 12vcc pin PSU connector to Main is disconnected at Main

Main board is bad then, power board OK. You can also test LCD by using resistor in between 5V and BLON and DIM to make sure it is not cracked before you repair/replace main board.

Just jumper those three? 5v BLON and DIM (with a resistor of course)

And just for my understanding. Why must the DIM be jumpered also? I did try just jumper between 5v and BLON and the back lights did not come on. So I am assuming that's why the DIM is required as well.

Ok unless I am doing something wrong I cant get the BL's to come on. I am jumpered from 5v with a resistor to BLON and then another straight jumper from BLON to DIM. Main board disconnected.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                  Assuming...

                                  Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                                  Hi guys,

So, I've been racking my brains on this one.

                                  I have a Satellite C50-A which I'm repairing for a friend.

I recently replaced the main board due to failure.

Following this, absolutely everything works perfectly, except for the fact it won't power down.

Initially, shutting down via Windows would shut the OS down, screen would turn off (noticed the lighter black go to what looks like the darker black powered off screen as though the backlights have powered off), however the laptop was still running internally with a spinning...
