    Sony Bravia KDL-52W3000 Bad Picture

Picked up a dead bravia with 5 red flashes. Found two bad fuses one on the PSU and one on Tcon replaced both and Tv came on. Unfortunately the picture is bad. Will a bad TCON cause this or maybe the dreaded tabs?

I know the screen shows a black spot in the lower left corner but at times the whole screen is black and white pixels with no black spot in the corner.

I see the same symptom on picture #1 on bad tab bonding.

Do you think the rubber under the bonds would be worth trying?

Ok thanks for the tip about the frame being the heat sink, I thought the tabs felt pretty warm.. Ok so when I manipulate the far left on the top tab the picture changes so it is the problematic tab. I will try the spacer and see what happens.

Ok did the rubber spacer thing and I got it pretty good. But as you can see in the picture the left 1/4ish part of the pic is a little pixelated?

It looks like you may not get all the connections on the tabs, it kind of hard to do since you have to keep pressing at many section of the tab to see if the problem will go away, but you have to do fast before the ICs get to hot.

Well sad to say it looks like a lost cause at this point. I tried manipulating the bad tab as many ways as I could but could not get any better than the pic above. It only continues to get worse. Guess this unit will be for parts now. Can't win them all I guess. On to the next one!
