    E420vo

Have E420VO television. I think it was struck by static from an electrical storm. Not 100 percent sure. All I know now is that it will not power up.

My first guess was that it might be the power board, so I purchased one off of ebay. Said it was new, but I get the same thing, the vizio sign stays in the indication color for standby.

So either the power board I received was no good or my main board is no good. I know on some television power boards there was a switch to turn the power board on manually, however I do not see that on this board. And measuring the voltages I have the +5 and that is all. So I am assuming the 12 and such comes on after the power supply turns on. So is there a way to manually turn the power supply on? So I can test it to make sure that the supply is good.

Thanks and have a great day.

I had the exact same set with the exact same condition. You probably need an eeprom for the main board. Just do a google search for the board number and eeprom. You can send the board to be repaired or you can buy the chip and solder it on yourself.
