50" is a PDP. Plasma. So probably this is a main board fault, or a control board fault. Could be an easy fix, if the parts are cheap; it'll be unlikely you can do a component level repair on this.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

99% this is not a panel defect. However, do inspect the panel carefully for permanently stuck or dark lines. They are common on some Samsung models.
I would not keep a Samsung plasma for myself, they are too unreliable. I would only keep a Panasonic... I've got a 46" one in my bedroom right now... or a newer higher-end LG plasma.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

perhaps HPS5033, the outer frame profile looks close but the bottom, impossible for me to make outComment
