    gtvl26w8hd tv wont start

    Hi,
I have the goodmans TV as mentioned in the title. Just like one of the other threads on here, I have the problem with it not starting up but it seems to be slightly different.

My TV starts up every so often and seems to be when it it slightly warmer in the house. I have opened up and looked at the power supply and all caps look fine but what I notice when it doesn't come on is a slight whistle(very high pitched) that gets higher for about half a second then when unplugged it gets lower and finally disappears, it sounds like a capacitor building up charge or something but it also changed when I press the on button on the TV. It only changes while I am holding the button then it goes back to the normal high pitched sound.

Now when it does come on, the sound occurs as it normally would (as in, it starts low then gets high pitched) then there's a tiny little spark on one of the jumpers and the TV starts. I'm not sure whether this could be a capacitor problem like most other TVs of this age or whether it could be that jumper that has a dry joint or something?

    Any help will be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Could you post a clear photo showing where the spark originated? A good photo of the back of the board would be nice too.

    Thanks

      Re: gtvl26w8hd tv wont start

Hi, really sorry for not getting back with pics, had my laptop stolen so can only use my phone and it won't let me upload photos however I've managed to get the tv working every time!

The way I did it was first worked out that shorting a 5v pin to the ground pin resets the power supply and it all comes to life, however only if I do it for a second

So after working this out I realised that if I put a switch in that would momentarily short the two, it would work using that switch.

So I attached a wire to the 5v line and to the ground and routed one to one side of the power button and the ground to the other side so if I can't get the tv to come on using the remote, I just press the power button once and it works

Will this damage the power supply or should this be ok?

If you still want to see pictures of the board I've taken some and can upload them when I get a laptop again

      Thanks again,
      Adam

Issue: Funai FW55D25F - High Pitched Squeal Upon Power-on.

Solution: Replace C3208 and C3209 on main board. These are surface mounted capacitors. Values unknown so I just used same physical size capacitors from a donor board.

I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

Panasonic TX-L50B6B | High pitched noise and black lines
        by oldmanhouse
Hi folks, I have an issue with my 7 year old Panasonic TX-L50B6B that has appeared within the last few days.

        The symptoms are:
        • A high pitched "buzzing" / "whining" noise coming from the TV when it is turned on. There is no noise during standby, and the noise persists with all AV connections removed.
        • There are noticable horizontal lines in the picture. Upon closer inspection it looks like every few rows of pixels are dead/black.

Attached is a close-up of the picture in "test mode", to demonstrate the rows of black lines.

MXR Carbon Copy High Pitched Noise
        by Camarada78
        Hello,

I have a MXR Guitar Pedal here that turns on, passes audio but does not add the effect. It has a high pitched squeal that varies tone depending on delay speed.

Its a analog delay pedal using four BBD (BL3208A), one compander (SA571D), one clock (cd4047), one TL082 and one 33178.

This pedal is prone to some issues (ESD), but i replaced the common faulty transistors and the problem remained. In fact, the original ones were still good (tested on component tester).

Anyone familiar with this pedal to give me some light?

Is there any high current pouch battery that are size 60mmX80mm maximum thickness 21mm for a battery operated tab welder
        by sam_sam_sam
I have a battery operated tab welder and the battery does not have enough current for the battery tab welder because after about 30 welded it does not have the same current output it voltage has gone down by at least 0.500 volts or maybe a more than that

I can fit 21700 battery cells in the enclosure it is very tight fit for four of them that are 35 amp high current capacity 35X4=140 high current output this should work a lot better than what is installed right now

I tested the battery cells there are installed right now and they are testing good with no issues that I...
