    Hitachi p50s601 possible power protection

I have a 50 inch, P50S601 that I am having problems with. In a nutshell, it appears to be in power protection. When powered on the display flashes then the power button goes from steady blue to a flashing blue (flashes 3x then of for 2 seconds then repeats). I have disconnected the YSUS and XSUS alternately and applying power per the Plasma TV troubleshooting steps with the same results. Voltages coming out of the PSU appear to be correct when reading at the output at CNPP5 (connector that have the voltages listed below it) Another indicator is that the fans do not come on upon power up.

    Service manuals:

(The second one isn't working for me -- I'll see if I can fix that at some point, if I have the original file.)

Well, just figured it out. It is definately on of the buffer boards for the YSUS. SDR-U was the culprit. Disconnected SDR-U and set powered up showing lower display only as expected. Plugged it back in to verify and viola! No power and blinking blue light! Now to locate a replacement that wont cost an arm or leg....

They don't exist. That is, the failure is so common that the buffers regularly go for upwards of $200~$300. However, you can repair them yourself if you or a friend is handy with SMD.

How do i go about getting a schematic of the card? Looking at it, there is nothing obvious.
There are test points TP1 thru TP8 even and odd.

Could the schem be on the document that is damaged that you directed me to?

Received the new SDR-U today. Put it in the TV, powered up, and..... display flashed and saw good on lower but lines on upper half. 10 seconds later, poof! back in protection. URGGGH!!! When cycling the power, see the same thing so I believe that the SDR-U was only one of the issues. Now what? Back to the drawing board.

Make sure to check large caps on the power supply secondary. If they are 2200 or 3300 caps you might want to change them. bulged or not.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                Hitachi Power Supply Unit Interchangeability
                by navagator
I have a Hitachi 57F710E rear projection set with a bad power supply board. I've tried to fix it with help from this forum as well as another one, but without success. Today I found a Hitachi rear projection set for sale on Facebook that looked just like mine. After contacting the seller I found out it was a 51F510. According to the service manuals my set uses a HA01312, POWER UNIT DP4X-DM_24W and the 51F510 uses a HA01313, U901, POWER UNIT DP4X_24W.

Does anyone know if these 2 power supply boards are interchangeable?

                Thanks.
