Olevia 337-B11 Need some help with this one please!

When plugged in blue LED lights up but nothing else happens. There is only the 5v standby present on the power supply, no other voltages.

I thought it may be the main board so replaced it with a new one, but same results.

There are no labels on any connectors either so have no idea where to check things..

    Any help would be appreciated!

So you are saying that it won't respond to the power button at all? Could be PSU with bad caps.

Try heating the PSU with hair dryer to see if it responds.

It does shut off then it won't turn back on usually. The caps seem OK, someone had replaced some of them before and nothing is bulging.. Looks like from underside that a couple diodes were replaced too but everything seems to test good.

I'm a little confused. You say it shuts off and won't turn back on but the first post you said it will never turn on at all. I'm pretty sure that the blue LED means it's in stand by(on these sets).

So when the blue led is lit, and you push power button what happens exactly?

I still recommend a quick and dirty hair dryer test as well.

I meant just the blue LED turns on and off not the TV, there is no activity at all as there is no voltage except the 5v standby

I see some 3-leg LDO regulators on the main baord, you might as well check and report the voltage reading.
Can you also take real good pictures of both top and bottom side of the power supply board in 1/4 section each?

I checked the 1117 regulators, there are only 2 that have voltage, from the 5v standby and they tested good on both main boards.

I will post the pics when I get home from work, thanks..

OK, let me download all the pictures then I will be able to section out each section of the board.
Did anyone work on this board before? I can see some damaged traces on the three devices mounted on the heatsink on the last picture (SAM_0481). The worst one is the device with 5 pins, the traces look real bad.

Yes I saw those too it looks like a few caps were changed and it was obvious that whole heat sink assembly was removed with the 2 diodes and that 5 pin IC. So I scraped back the board to get to the traces and put some more solder on the ones that were damaged.. The caps all seem to test good with the ESR meter but it does act like bad caps.. And I think the previous owner told me it started to turn on intermittently before it died but I can't remember for sure.

I do know I have the 5v standby and 168v on the main cap.

Re: Olevia 337-B11 Need some help with this one please!

I made a little progress before I just screwed up. First of all after putting the PS back in the fuse was blown. So I put the light bulb fuse in..

I figured out the brown wire next to red standby wire (Pins 1 and 2 from edge of board) on J101 is the PS_ON. It goes to 3.66v when turned on and 0 when off (I'm pretty sure it didn't do this before I messed with those damaged traces but I could be wrong). So now I know the blue LED indicates TV is ON not in standby.

Also it looks like I didn't get a pic of IC1 (ICE 2A265) which I attached. I noticed when power TV on and off would get 166v/0v respectively on pin 4.

Unfortunately before I got datasheet to test the VCC...
                        http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe.../ICE2A265.html
I touched pins 3 and 4 by accident and -spark- followed by burning smell and light bulb is now on..

I will now need a new IC Based on the above does it now seem like a PS issue that is causing the missing 12v/24v voltages?

BTW this seems to be a very hard to find power supply and not very clear on actual part #

So it does sound like the power supply problem. The PS_ON is OK, since the PS has PFC voltage booster, so the voltage on the big main cap should jump up to around 380~400V.
Just have to wait until you get the new IC for the Standby power supply, should check all the devices mounted on the heatsink to see if they are shorted or not. You can also remove the ICE IC to see if the lamp will no longer glow.

I checked the 4 diodes on the large heatsinks beforehand, they tested good. That 5 pin IC Im not sure about but did not show a short. The large cap voltage never went above 168v when turned on. Do you know what controls the PFC to kick in? Is IC1 just the standby power IC then?

OK, I traced out the board just to see what is going on.
J101 (15 pins connector), if you look at the top, one corner of the connector is cut 45 degree for indicating pin1. The other two connectors are connected in parallel for supplying the 24V. The BL_ON (Inverter_on), and Dimming signal (these two signals are routed through J101 (pin 2 and pin 4) to PIN 1 and 2 on one of the two connectors (I cannot read the connectors numbers).
The third connector on the side is for 12v output to the main board.
                              J101 pin out:
Pin 1 is Ground (with 45 degree corner)
Pin 2 is either BL_ON or Dim (if pin 2 is BL_ON, then pin 4 is Dim). The signal comes from main board to feed this pin.
                              Pin 3 is Ground.
Pin 4 is either BL_ON or Dim, the signal comes from main board to feed this pin.
                              Pin 5, 6, 7 are Ground.
Pin 8~13 is xxV fed by that 5-pin Switching power supply IC (P/N???) on the heatsink.
                              Pin 14 is PS_ON
Pin 15 is the standby 5V output for the main board.

This is what I see on your board.

Bud I got a PS board from another similar Olevia model pretty cheap, put it in and TV works..
Since I want to learn what was wrong I started comparing readings on the 2..

Now I had already ordered that IC and all new caps for this board.. But look at this area around the IC on the bottom, there's some pretty good damage (probably due to my slip up).. R65 for one is open, and ZD3 and D16 do not test good in circuit, as they do in the working board.

Do you think we can get this board going again, I have no idea what those diode part #'s are..

What should raw B+ be on this power board? I am repairing one with a pulsating 5volt standby supply. The raw B+ reads 163v, It appeases to have some kind of voltage doubler circuit The cap is rated @ 450 vdc thanks

B+ should be 160~170V standby, 390V or so when running, I think.

Yes that's what I have on the working power supply.

How to Identify My GPU When CPU-Z and Physical Labels Disagree?
                                          by Andriy Andrusyk
I recently bought a used GPU that was advertised as an MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. The backplate label also identifies it as a GTX 1080 Ti, and the label looks untampered.
However, when I run CPU-Z, it detects the GPU as a Radeon RX 480.
I inspected the PCB and found a second label near the gold connector reading: V341 VER:1.1 From what I've found online, V341 PCBs are typically used for Radeon RX 480, while GTX 1080 Ti cards usually use a V360 PCB.
Is it possible the card was BIOS-modded or relabeled? What's the most reliable way to verify the actual GPU model I have?
                                          ...

Need (unlocked) bios for HP Probook 450 G3 Notebook

I'm requesting a bios .bin for 2 of my hp Probook 450 G3's. Both of which I had forgotten the bios passwords. I stupidly flashed both of them with firmware "made" by the RCUnlocker software and I guess I shouldn't have. The last thing I did was flash both of them with RCUnlocker-fw thinking it would 100% work and left my programmer etc behind and won't have access to them for another 2 days so I figured I'd create a thread to see if I'd be so lucky that someone might have a working file laying around 😝

Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic, no video, fan OK, missing voltage rail (?)

                                          Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic here, when powered
                                          • both fans spins (the sconds starts with a bit of a delay), no image neither on HDMI nor the display
                                          • most voltage rails seem OK (see image below, red labels)
                                          • resistnace to ground mostly seem OK as well (blue labels)
the only suspicious is the 0.0V rail (2nd from left, top row)
                                          • the resistance to ground is rather low (1.9ohm)
                                          • when injecting the voltage (1V), it consumes around 200mA, seems OK to me (?)
also tried new BIOS, no change
I can't find a schematics for the board - can some of you gurus look at the voltages?...
