TV comes on but no video, just alternates through a cycle of displaying a full screen of red, green, blue, white and black screens.

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
Probably needs an eeprom reset as it is stuck in factory test mode. Who made this TV internally? (If you're not sure post some pictures of the boards; we may be able to guess.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Hi, thanks for reply.

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
Could low or absent voltages cause these symptoms?
Back panel removed.
Connector S1503 To PSU Pin 7 does not have any voltage present - looking at the schematics this should have 5v, please correct me if I am wrong.
No voltage present either in standby or when on.

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
Have repaired sets with this fault. From my experience Tom is correct. I only had this problem on vestel models. In my case just replaced eeproms I took off spare panels. Don't know procedure to reset your eeprom. Perhaps someone on this forum knows. Ron 77Comment

Perhaps installing a new blank eeprom would fix it.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
OK thanks, so not looking good.
Another oddity is that the backlight flashes when first turning it on. Checking the 24v rails which drive the inverter it seems to take a while for the voltage to rise up to 22.6v. There is always 22.6v on the PSU outputs on power up when the cable is removed so its only when the connector is plugged into the LW6.194R-3 board S1501.
There are 2 inverter boards, master and slave.
With the slave still connected but master inverter disconnected the 24v rail rises to 22.6v no problems, obviously the backlights do not come on and there is no display.
With the master still connected but the slave disconnected the 24v rail rises to 22.6v sluggish but is much quicker than when both inverters are connected.Last edited by notallbad; 03-14-2013, 07:40 AM.Comment

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
I think I can manage swapping one of those chips but how about the programming?
Would that be a visual inspection of the caps, they all look good, i.e not leaky or bulging.Last edited by notallbad; 03-14-2013, 08:27 AM.Comment

Re: Goodmans GTVL37W24HD LCD TV
Unfortunately I don't have the kit to flash the eeprom and in any case I doubt the program/code is even available so think I shall be dumping it.
Dumping as in trashing, not code dumping.Comment

by meraklinetxHello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...

by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo -

by nono34Hello,
I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.
I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to... -
by Yoda79Hi, wondering if anyone can help with a tv which seems to turn on but turn off soon after and continue to do this cycle over and over again.
It turns on, no sound and then turns off and starts the whole cycle again. I've opened up the back and can see the backlights turning on. However when I disconnect the two straps connecting the left hard board (as you look on the back of the TV), the boot cycle stops and it does turn on and I can hear the boot up sound, however no video?
Any thoughts, any help would be greatly appreciated.... - Loading...
