OK, so I have managed to get into service mode now!

Is there a way of telling if the tuner is analog or digital, we don't have a particularly great reception here so rely entirely on a satellite receiver box. I don't seem to be able to find a manual or reviews on the internet that state analog or digital. The tv says HD Ready on the front bezel but thats it.

Is there anything in the Service Menu that would identify this?

Personally I think analog. There are 2 tuners (UV1316/A and UV1316T/S) but guessing this is for different regions or could be a twin tuner for viewing 2 stations at once, PIP. I believe, though not sure, that the tv is early 2007. Possibly just before digital was being introduced on tv's.

If you get snow or fuzzy ness on a weak signal = analog
        Blockiness = digital

Also there are no analog TV transmitters operating in the UK so the TV should not receive TV at the moment without a digital tuner.

Yes, thanks. That confirms my suspicions, it is definately analog then.
          White snow/fuzzy.

Well thats no real issue afterall who watches digital freeview anyway?

All other inputs confirmed working - Scarts, HDMI, PC input, S-video, Component in, A/V and DVI.

And can also confirm that the side panel buttons are now working, volume +/-, channel +/-, source, menu.

The only issue now to resolve is the inverter start-up from cold, backlights take a while to come on and then flash for a while before coming on completely. The 24v voltage rails rise gradually so need to investigate the PS b/d and the inverter boards.
Once the tv has been on then put into standby and left a while it will come on quicker with just a slight flicker.

            Probably bad caps on 24V.

Asus Z97-a power cycle, no boot no cpu voltage
                by meraklinetx
Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

Issues with new Surface Pro 5 screens
                by diamon
I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:

Bad working China screen part number:

Good working own screen part number

Error I get with the bad working China screen:

No error with the good working own screen:

All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation...

Hisense stuck in Colors cycle like test pattern.
                by nono34
                Hello,

I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.

I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to...

                Samsung ue55nu7021k Boot cycle
                by Yoda79
Hi, wondering if anyone can help with a tv which seems to turn on but turn off soon after and continue to do this cycle over and over again.

It turns on, no sound and then turns off and starts the whole cycle again. I've opened up the back and can see the backlights turning on. However when I disconnect the two straps connecting the left hard board (as you look on the back of the TV), the boot cycle stops and it does turn on and I can hear the boot up sound, however no video?

Any thoughts, any help would be greatly appreciated....
