    i was going to reply much earlier, but i had a visitor.
    the current cap is 1500uf 16v, it should be a 1000uf 16v.

    i actually heat the set up at the 150uF 400v for the voltage to stabilise, which i presume is the primary side.

      This is exactly the same problem I have with one of these; an X42DTV.

      I have replaced all of the caps in the power supply and the the two in each inverter (the only ones that were at all bulging), but it's stil the same - flickering/strobing on the screen, no sound or video, stops strobing after a while.

      The 5V and 16.5V rails are fine, the 12V rail is down at approx. 8V, but I don't think it's the PSU at fault, most likely the main board, as Wreksta says. I tried disconnecting the power to this board, but the set then fails to power up, obviously due to a necessary feedback loop.

      Anyone managed to find the actual cause, or a circuit diagram for these?
