Run a 1kohm resitor from the hole in the plug for one of the 5V pins to the hole that runs to PS_ON. Plug the tv in and see if you have voltage at 12V and 24V, if so, see if you have voltage at the VINs in the inverter plug. Maybe this set doesn't have a back light on pin.
Re did the resister test. I have 5v,12v, and 24v on the PSB and have 24 volts at the inverter connector on PSB

Good- Switch it off - Plug the inverter board in and do the test again and see if the lamps come on.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

On most sets there is a wire going to the inverter that tells it to turn on, If you tell us what panel is in this set we can / or you can find the panel data sheet and read how it detects to turn on the backlight, how an error would be communicated from the err pin, and other useful data.

The panel comes with the inverter, tcon, light box , bulbs so on. It is usually silver backed, and all the boards sit on a frame behind it. There should be a sticker on the silver back somewhere that says a brand like AUO, or CHUNGWAY, or chimei, LG, or samsung, so on, then a model number, we need to know the model number to hopefully find the data sheet on the panel.

Hopefully there is a pin we need to run a voltage to to turn the backlights on, if not then it might be experiencing an error which may be indicated by a voltage on the error pin while the set is on (on via the 1k ohm resistor trick).
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

The 24v rails on each plug should be connected. When you plug the inverters in and force the psu on do you still have 24v at the plug to the main? Also, it looks like it took two tries or more to get the psu to force on. Are you sure the psu was on when the inverters were plugged in and the lamps didn't come on?

Follow up, saw the picture of the inverter connector, the STB PIN IS THE INVERTER ON/OFF pin. But right now I believe you have the problem in the main board which is not sending the PS_ON signal to turn on the power supply. You will have to do in depth main board troubleshooting.
please read my basic LCD TV troubleshooting guide.

Thats a incredibly complex / proprietary looking board, even the regulators arent basic 3 pin models... Without a really detailed step by step in the service manual (sanyo service manuals are fairly basic) it would be quite hard to diagnose that board.

Id recomend checking any fuses on the board / they are usually tiny white rectangular parts with metal on each end, and are usually designated with a F begging the component number printed on the board. You could also probe around carefully for 12v reaching the board near where the connector from the power supply comes in, usually a fuse will be the first stop for the 12v power after coming from the connector .

I looked around the board and also where the PSb connects I don't see any fuses. Also how do you check this type of regulator

Can you post a better picture of the whole main board, i cant tell if the power is comming from the top right of your current pic, or from the small board in the bottom left that is partially cut off in the picture. A picture of the whole back of the set with all the boards in place might help too if you have one / dont already have all the boards spread out.

I dont know how to test 4-5 pin regulators , if thats even what those parts are, im refering to the ones marked ic6050, and ic6051 in the center. With the part number from them i could probably find a data sheet and figure out whats gate source drain so on and figure out how to test it, but perhaps someone here will know if those are even worth testing on this board.
