Nice professional job. Does the case have positions for fans? Seems Panasonic have added fans in recent versions (GT30 onwards) after removing them... probably due to reliability issues.

There are several stand-offs on the display for what may be a fan array as the location is correct, However, none of the standoffs are tapped. I did not want to go making metal chips in a fully assembled set.

I checked the clearances between the mounting supports and the back cover and there was more than enough room to do the fan shroud as I did it with no interference. FWIW, the back cover only contacts the mounting supports on the vertical portion. the angled sections have about 1/4" (6mm) clearance.

        Re: Panasonic TCP50GT20

Figured I'd give a conclusion to this thread. I hooked the TV back up as it was yesterday and it was on for about 5.5 Hrs straight. The only spot that has any heat to is is by the A board. I think if someone wanted to add a dedicated fan to that board it would be benificial. The screen was much cooler to the touch and I could feel no heat increase around the PS,SS,SD boards. The fan mod made a Huge difference overall and was well worth the effort. The only change I would make to the mod would be to move the shroud down about 1/2" to 3/4" for a little more clearance for the fan frame. It works well as is though.

There was some concern about the DC-DC introducing noise back into the display. I used several diffrent inputs and settings and noticed nothing to indicate this was occuring.

Thanks for all the help, hopefully the many points we covered here will help someone else along the way.
