    Polaroid TDA-03211C No Video

    Hello Fellas.

I have a Polaroid TDA-03211C with video problems.
After the power on the Tv, Polaroid Message and Backlight turn on, but after 2 to 3 sec later turn off.

I know is very common problem on this tv, but mostly point to capacitors.
But, I desoldering and check one by one out to the board and everything is fine. Blue Meter and Capacitance.

Do you thing the cause can be a bad lamp send me the signal turn off the backlight? The Tv keeps on (Blue light indicator).

    Any ideas.
    Thanks for looking

Do you have a visual? (you will need a source of light)
How are your voltages looking from the psu and is there a BL_ON signal?

Pics will help on this too.

This one is also known for two bad caps (10uf 450V) for the inverter circuit.

You might as well replace the caps as a set.

The power board supply the next voltages
        5.01v
        12.1v
        23.45v
according with printed, need to be 5v,12v,20v.

        Bk_on give me 4.4v

        1 sec : black screen
        2 sec : black screen
3 sec : backlight on and polaroid message on
4 sec : turn black screen and 2 of 10 times show me blue screen and the rest black screen

        Comments.
The Tv remains on (blue light indicator)
Solid red light on power board.
I check by induction the top of 2 transformers and when the backlight is on show me value and after backlight is off the value going down.

I am having the same problem. I change the capacitor on the main power board and the lil red light on the corner keeps blinking. But blue light on the tv say on. The dvd player works fine. I put a dvd in there and it runs. But no sound or nothing. What should I do?

Do you think it could be the back light of the tv thats blown? or just the video board thats bad.

A blinking light on that PSU does indicate backlight fault.

could it be caused by a cold solder that can cause that to blink. I was thinking about buying the whole thing on a website. But I wanted to see if i figure it out on my own. Sad part is the tv is kicking my butt. lol

You will have to change the 2 450v caps. I replaced every other cap on the one I have and it would not work until I changed the 2 450v ones.

crdz66 did you pull all of the caps under the heatsinks and check them?

Thank you MagicSmoke. This is my first time posting to a blog and I thought I was suppose to put the problem under a heading that existed - if one was already started. Those caps look fine - but I will replace.

Mine looked fine also, no leaking or bulged tops. But pulled them to test, one 22uf 450v cap read 1.8uf the other would not read. both were bad.
