that diode should NOT appear open...
That would cause loss of 24V audio supply. I can't be certain if that would just cause lost audio or other problems.

That was not necessary. Lots of things can cause that. When plugged in though, TV should do a self test. So hold meter across leads, plug TV in, see reading.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Hold meter across leads of one of those caps, plug TV in, see if reading spikes.
TV has capacitor that stores charge, like battery, when unplugged. So it will run for some time with no power.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
