magnavox 37mf321d no remote

hope someone can help
i repaired my power supply bad caps i also had a bad scaler (main) board
i replaced the main board now the tv works fine except i have no remote control
i tried 3 different universal remotes thinking the code might be different
how can i test to see if its the ir board or main board? it must have been hit by a surge to damage both boards thanks jack

You can use a digital camera to see if the remote control is sending out the right pulses. IR light is visible on most digital cameras.
