Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
Went and got voltage from EEPROM - U18 and this is what I got. Can anyone let me know if this is reading right or is this a way to tell if it is indeed defective? Not sure if anyone has tried to pull the voltage ever from this Chip.
Just Ordered the New one just in case.

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
I took the boards off to do some underside checks and see if there were any bad soder points but everything looks fine no cracks or looseness. But I did see this on the PCB. Yes I know sometimes there is some white stuff on the boards but this is interesting. I see it on three different components in a certain area and two when I pushed them closer to each other it isn't tall enough to touch the other component in the same area it has white stuff. Also the resister standing strait off the board has a little bit on it also. Any explanations? I will be ordering my EEPROM tomorrow Waiting on paycheck to clear.
Meanwhile thought that was weird.
Thanks to all that are very patient with me!
Someone please circle the areas I should test further also because some of this doesn't look familiar to me.

That is white elsstic glue, they use them a lot to hold the caps and small components in place during wave soldering.Never stop learning

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
I have a working E470VLE main-board, I took measurements with the TV is in stand by and then power on.
measurement in stand by:
only U4= 3.28VDC
F1 FUSE= +5VDC
Measurement TV power on:
See picture.
The sound like an EPROM problem
hope this help

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
Ill check it against mine here on a minute. Mine just stays with orange vizio logo on "standby" mode. Nothing ever shows on the screen or even attempts to come on at all!Comment

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
Ok checked it against mine. I get 5v at the fuse on both sides. So while waiting on the EEPROM I will re check solder points where you suggest. Since I cannont check any connections that would have voltage with tv on.Comment

Those chips are $3 a piece, max. Plus a programmer is less than $15. I wish we could find out where to get the firmware files from...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

The EEPROM / serial flash IC that was linked to previously.
That is my signature included in all my posts. I got a load of Vizio SMs from a link on their website, but they've since patched it up. If I don't have yours sorry. I'm working on adding a lot more. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
Ohh ok I need one for my TV. If you have it can you please upload it or link me to it. I would greatly appreciate it. Ohh and U4 is supposed to read 3.3v with TV on or off?
ThanksComment

Re: Another E470VLE with "Orange Light of Death!"
* Update: With ecking767's Picture I measured 3.3v on U4 Tab and 1.2v from the tab directly north of U4. Still no sign of the new EEPROM yet...Comment

Hello Everyone!
I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died....06-28-2025, 02:57 PM -
by mosfetratusWhen i fully shut off mac, orange light goes off and wont react to power button. I have difficult time resetting with combination "shift+control+option and power button", because it rarely works (reason unknown), when i manage to get orange light and then press power button macbook wont turn on and orange light goes off. When i hold combination with power button it turns on, and works fine if put it to sleep mode.
Works with battery and charges, but when i shut off i get this problem.
It had liquid spill. Board has no corrosion, keyboard is working, power button... -
by TomyleeHi everyone, I have a Nintendo 2DS XL that shows the orange charging light when plugged in, but nothing happens when I press the power button — no blue light, no screen, no sound.
Here's what I've observed:
All ribbon cables are properly connected
Battery is present and in good condition
No reaction even with screens disconnected
There's a visible burn mark / overheating sign on the metal shield, right above the CPU
I’m suspecting an issue with the CPU, PMIC, NAND, or a power...3 Photos -

by RezendesHello, I have a MacBook 820-3115-B board that never shows an Orange light and goes straight to a green light and turns itself on when the ac adapter is plugged in. System won’t run off battery and turns off immediately when ac power unplugged. I believe the battery should be ok as it was a replacement not too long ago but it’s possible that’s the issue as most anything is possible I guess. I don’t have any spare batteries or donor boards although I have ordered 2 on the way. I have replaced U7000 and same results. I have also applied flux and reflowed the SMC IC and no change. Nothing...
