    Vizio VA26LHDTV10T no backlight

    Hey guys! Me again!

    This time it's a Vizio VA26LHDTV10T

The TV powers on, Vizio logo turns white. Screen doesn't appear to display any output. Press "Menu" and shine a light on the middle of the screen, and the menu comes up.

Have not tested audio output, have not attached any input devices..

So we're getting display on the LCD, but no backlight.

    What's my next step?

I am new here like you, but I'm sure they(the resident experts) will ask you to upload some closeup pictures of the boards in the TV so that they know what they are working with.

      Re: Vizio VA26LHDTV10T no backlight

first thing is to check the voltage to the inverters if led should be around 24 volts you need service manual to confirm, most run 24v. the power supply board has a label with voltage stamped near the terminals. if in fact you are getting correct voltage at inverters then you need to post clear pics here of the inverter boards if no voltage the power supply pics. if someone can spot the problem then you get the input if not we at least know what to check. be careful around the heatsinks some can have voltage and some get very hot.

        Re: Vizio VA26LHDTV10T no backlight

I tested each red wire that was labeled 24V to each black wire labeled GND, I got 24V on every red and a ground on every ground.

I do not see any obvious problems, so I've attached some high res photos of the inverter board.

check f1 0n the inverter board and look for any other fuses there, it is a smd fuse. also read rules on posting about size of pics the higher res photos while good takes a while for dial up to load. i believe the max size is 200x200

I just saw the thread about the same inverter board F1 fuse here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17214

On my board, the closest component near the markings "F 1A/76V" is the F1 fuse. It appears to be open. Would you guys recommend bridging with a wire for the purpose of testing only? or just locate the correct component and don't touch it till it's correct?

No we wouldnt recommend using a wire - however a 1 Amp fuse with a different voltage would be ok for a test. We would normally say same voltage or higher but not sure why it has 76 volts cant be that high on the board?

Check from both ends to ground for a short.
If no short found then bridge it, but replace the fuse with a proper one before you assemble it.

76V is just cheapest they could probably get with necessary specs.
Regularly see 125V fuses on inverter boards too.

I use PICO II fuse. It looks like this:

Fixed many of this model due to blown inverter fuse.

Time delay (T) also called slow blow is the most common.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

Hi, so i guess Iยดll have to make a new topic here, as i browsed through hundreds of other threads but couldn't find a solution to my problem yet.

I got a EIZO CX270 from a friend. He said it doesn't work anymore and wont display any signal or take any OSD inputs. Well, as an aspiring photographer I couldn't say no, could I? Thought it was an easy game, replace a bad cap and have a working monitor. But nooope, it wasn't supposed to be this easy.

So let me start with the problem description. I'll try my best not to skip anything so this might get rather long.
