This one is for sale locally no sound, no picture, just an amber Vizio light. I think the owner wants too much for it, $100, but after I contacted them they texted back and said that they plugged it back in and it was working. It sounds to me like it could be a PSU issue. What are the chances that it could be something else? I guess there's always the chance that the owner is playing some kind of game.

It's more likely the main board, Vizio power boards tend to be fairly well built -

If it's a Samsung plasma panel (possibly) it could be cold solder joints, older Samsung plasmas were well known for cold solder joints on the main power transistors.

Sorry to bring this back up. The owner decided to keep it since it was working again. This morning the ad popped back up for sale. He now has two of the exact same model with the exact same issue. No power, no sound. Stuck in standby. He wants $100 each plus another $25 each for the stands.Originally posted by tom66 View Post

I wondered about that too. He said he had the one and liked it so much he talked his naeighbor into buying the same one, the neighbor later moved and sold it to him. I'm sceptical.Comment
