    Westinghouse LTV-32W6HD

I just got this tv with no history of problem because it came from a recycling center.
    Powered on ok.
I changed input from vga to cable(tuner).
went into menu and reset everything.(not a factory reset)
    programmed channels
    everything seems ok
I have cycled power at least 10 times and had it running 2 hrs so far with no issues.

I have not opened it to check anything yet so I was wondering what some of you do to test functions stability/reliability after a fix or when you cant find a problem. I really doubt someone would pay to recycle it if it worked fine.
I only have a DMM for testing right now so I am limited in what I can do.

    Example:
Heating the boards a little to look for heat issues.

Time is really the best test. Have it run through a looped video for a while. Of course, doing a look-over of the boards wouldn't be a bad idea. (Had a Vizio work fine with bad caps on the inverters; when he brought to the shop he forgot the issue and it had the appeal of working....then brought back with issue)
Of course, there is the possibility that the cable had an issue but they dismissed it as the TV and you got very lucky lol

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset
      by odie34
I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray Player – No Power, Reset Signal Always High
      by ictc
I'm troubleshooting a Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray player that shows no signs of life. The display remains off, and no buttons respond.

Inside, the power supply is working correctly, and all expected voltages on the mainboard match the service manual specifications. The CPU warms up slightly (checked with a thermal camera), the crystal oscillator is functioning, but the reset signal remains high at all times.

The reset circuit appears to consist of two NPN transistors, one driven by 5V VCC and the other by 3.3V STBY, as shown in the attached schematic. Should the reset...

ASUS M5A78L-M LX - PWR button works sometimes, CPU stuck in reset
      by kotel studios
      Hi,
Firstly I'd like to apologize if this was posted in the wrong forum (I'm new here )
Recently I got an ASUS M5A78L-M LX board in a scrap lot. Saw one broken cap which I've replaced. No broken traces and missing components. While soldering a new cap a bit of solder got onto components bellow SB (opposite of the two lythic caps). Didn't see it and powered the board on.
I was greeted with it not starting. Came back to it a day later and shorted the PS_ON with GND to force it on. It sprung to life but with CPU stuck in reset (it was an FX 4600 I believe). Thats when I saw the...

Factory Reset Westinghouse WG55UR4100 Android TV
      by neilc6
I repaired the backlights on this model (symptom flash of backlights, repaired seven bad, part#3P55TA004-A2 new strips available at Shopjimmy) and now the TV is stuck on the home screen. I can only turn the TV on with the remote and no buttons work once booted on the home screen. Only the TV buttons volume -/+ and on/off work. There is no physical menu or input buttons.

I think a factory reset will clear it but not a lot of options. Tried the Sony Android methods of holding down the on/off button while plugging it it and holding down vol- with power on/off....
