Re: Sanyo dp42848. No picture no sound?has anyone found the problem
Well you could be the one to resolve it. Do you have a meter to test with?
If so, go through the post you replied on as a guide and verify voltages to the inverter including BL_ON (or BL_SW) and then (if voltages are good) check resistances on the inverter transformers. -

So you do not have any meter to at least check the voltages?Never stop learning

Re: Sanyo dp42848. No picture no sound?has anyone found the problem
Well if you don't, you can probably find a cheap one at a local hardware store.
And it could be inverter wires, CCFL, inverter board, power supply, or the main. The previous post will eliminate at least 2 of those choices. But since we don't have the TV physically on us, you are going to have to work with us if you want to fix it yourself.Comment

Re: Sanyo dp42848. No picture no sound?has anyone found the problem
Red probe on 24v rail (wire) and black probe on chassis or screw? Make sure the meter is set to DC volts (line with dotted lines) and battery ok?
The bulbs can still light if one is bad. The other working bulbs will light for a second or two then circuitry will detect the broken bulb and shut the inverter off. You will sometimes hear a buzz by the inverter board before it shuts off.Comment

Re: Sanyo dp42848. No picture no sound?has anyone found the problem
What is the rail wire?i unplugged the wire on the power supply upper left at top of power supply, the power supply Board read 24v so I probed that pin. No volts the wire that goes to that pin is white and goes to the invertor, tried on the slave invertor same thing, the other wires show lower voltage like 4.75. But no 24 volts with the tv on plugged in?so if I'm doing it right IS THE POWER SUPPLY TO BLAME?ok will wait up tonight for your reply, thanksLast edited by tomstr; 11-27-2012, 11:14 PM.Comment

You can also check the 24vdc right at the white fuse on the inverter board.Never stop learning

Re: Sanyo dp42848. No picture no sound?has anyone found the problem
OK, the 24v power supply is not working.
johnboy1313 posted the picture of the power supply board but did not show the closed up pictures of the 3 white connectors, we need to verify if the power supply is getting the PS_ON signal from the main board to turn on the 12v/24v power supply.
Can you post the pictures of the connectors?Never stop learning

by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by MikePCSHello,
I have a just of warranty 70" Samsung 6-series that out of the blue stopped getting a picture, but I had sound. During the initial outage, the picture came back momentarily and then faded out. The next morning the TV worked on a quick test, but trying it again later it didn't.
When I have the mainboard disconnected from the power supply, the TV powers on with full LED brightness and stays on
When I plug the mainboard in, the LEDs go bright-->dim--off -->repeat, while the red status indicator blinks 2x
WORKAROUND: Unplug one... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started βfading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly βnew' Tcon board this time, and... -
by CyberPhoenixHello, Last week I bought the 50" Sony X80j tv everything was working fine, untill I plugged the tv in a ups power supply 650va the tv remote control became unresponsive and the TV became laggy after a while the picture quality isn't the same as before the tv seems less brighter and the picture is somehow blurry, people's faces don't look as natural as before, there is a mini orange-pink tint to the edge of people's faces especially in NETFLIX Dolby Vision like in One Piece ep1 Alvida skin tone, my intention was to protect the tv but something went wrong I checked the ups with a multimeter,...

by RauniHello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.
My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)
Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).
Read also that we should test what happens if we... - Loading...
