Phillips 37PF5521D dead after power cut

Need your help, after a power cut Tv no longer does anything, no standby light or anything.
Power board 3104 313 60822 and standby board 3104 313 60643 I have looked through several posts and it appears that these are common boards. So far I have changed 2 450 volt 10uf caps, 2 25 volt 100uf caps and a 50 volt 10uf on the standby board, and have changed 25 volt 680uf the 100 uf and 1000uf on the power board. I dont seem to be getting the 75 volt link from the power board to the standby board. When I put my meter on AC volts on the 2 wire plug linking the boards I get 0 volts. If I go to the chassis and each terminal I get 70 volts AC, but between the two 0 for some reason.
Obviously I am getting no DC voltage from either board. Help!!!!!!

Ok - I dont know a lot about tvs but will give you a few tests to get started.
Is the fuse in the mains plug ok and is the wiring ok and have you tested soemthing else in the mains socket you are using.
The pictures are not really good enough for troubleshooting but on the brown board there are 3 fuses (at least) pictures of the other sides?)) Can you check the fuses
POWER OFF Meter on ohms 200 one lead lead on each side of the fuse -post results.
Fuses - 1 ceramic top right - one glass bottom left one red barrel fuse top left barely visible.
Also bottom centre the red wire goes to a socket that looks scorched - is it or is it just dust and the picture.
Cap top right under where it says "marked type" is reflecting a bit oddly - is it bulged or does it look ok.

EDIT - check in your post have you put the correct boards against the
caps you have changed - you may be able to edit it if you are quick.

The green board is just AUDIO standby - yes?

Hi yes fuses all ok , center two wire socket i believe to be the supply to the standby board i think it should have 70v ac on and i can only get 70v each side to the chassis these wire are not burnt what you are seeing is one red wire and the other is red with black tracer. I know the photos are not much good i will pull the board out and take some more later thanks for any help you can give.

Check across it on DC volts; I'm expecting around 320V.

Hi have just checked on Dc 4.9 volts down near the mains in i thought there were two very small glass zener diodes but philips describe them as surge protectors have checked with a meter and they appear to be ok ?

They are surge suppressor (neon tube, like small lightning bolt), they are usually fine unless shattered. Do you hear a clicking sound from that black box (relay) near connector?

I would have thought everything on that side of the board would be" hot"?
Where did you check perhaps use the board numbers - we can see some of them.

"If I go to the chassis and each terminal I get 70 volts AC' It sounds like you are using the chassis gorund as the ground ref point whne measuring voltages in the primay (hot) side. When you working in the primay side, the neagtive leg of the large DC main filter will be your ground ref point. If you use chassis as the ground ref point for the primay side, all the voltage readings will be wrong.
You will use the chassis as the ground ref point when you work on the seconadry side.

If that was in reply to my asking for board numbers - I had those I meant the numbers on the board next to the parts.
For example (and also a question) do you know what the component is
at 9320 to the right of the blue resistor at 3304.

Can you answer Toms query re clicking at the relay - black box near the red
                      wire connector.

The DC Negative leg of the main DC filter cap in the PRIMARY will be your ground ref point when you are working in the PRIMARY side of the circuit you are troubleshooting.
You use the chassis as the ground ref point when you are working in the SECONDARY side of the circuit (DC outputs that feeds the boards).

Can we go back to more basic? Do you get 230vAC on the black and white wires?

Do you get 230VAC across the ceramic fuse

Is the component on the heatsink to the left of the Blue Resistor at 3304 a bridge rectifier - or what?

no the relay is not clicking, there is no component at 9320 it a wire link, yes i think the component on the heatsink is a bridge rectifier,r3318 100ohm 1/2 watt was ok but i have changed it for 470ohm 1/2 watt . do you think it could be the rectifier would i need to take it off the boar to test it ?

Do you hae the Chassis P/N? Philips will use the same model number but will have a bunch of difference chassis numbers also. I want to see if I can get the service manual for it.

The Philips released the bulletine for the resistor fix due to many resistor failures. It is changed from 100 Ohms to be 470 ohms.

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                          Hi everyone,

I have a NM-A321 board that is dead, with no power at all.

When I received the laptop, the +5VPMIC line was shorted. Removing the PU3 (ISL95905) solved the short, so I ordered and replaced the ISL.

With the new ISL, the short is gone, but still no voltages at all. I measured the following rails:
                                          • +3VALW
                                          • +5VAUX
                                          • 1.2VSUS_PWRGD
                                          • 3VALW_PGD
                                          • 1.05VAUX_PWRGD

Additionally, the ISL95906 (PU3) is not getting any voltage on the VIN rail.

The only place on the board where I find any voltage is on the first MOSFETs, specifically:...

Nikon D5 – dead, power board issue ?

Hello, the DSLR has heavyly fallen. It is dead : no sign of life and display nothing.

When it worked, it always displayed a card present state on LCD display, even when the battery is empty it display a empty battery symbol.
I found a dead fuse, I replaced it and a mosfet burnt, I changed it and another fuse burned. Nothing burned after. And I can't find any short circuit anywhere, it's weird.

Now, I try to understand how it works.

There is two boards (the little one on pictures has no component) : the first is a « power board » : managing...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
