    VIZIO VX37L-Black screen

    Hi Folks!
I acquired this Vizio unit from a friend who was about to toss this unit into the recycle bin. I adopted it hoping to bring it back to life with the help of this wonderful forum.
It only shows a black screen, no sound after I push the power button.
I hear a slight buzzing sound from the power supply.
The main Board # is 3637-0012-0150(3C)
Here are the LDO regulator readings (turned off and on) and a few pictures.
    Thank you!

Do you have a DVOM and can you list model # and some pics of power supply and any other board on TV. Is there any light on? Power light?

I plug it in, amber light turns white and stays that way. Will take more pics tomorrow.

This video (not mine) is relevant to your problem:
            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNFzBJELFoU&feature=plcp

It is a similar problem (not exactly the same) but likely the cause of your problem.

That youtube link tom66 referenced is from the how to test a voltage regulator link below in my sig file. So you get a text and video explanation of how it works.

              U5 and U8 look suspicious.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Well, actually, I found it because I subscribe to norcal715's videos. Very interesting to see a decent TV tech - one who doesn't simply swap boards (unless he has to) - but actually does a component level repair.

When I'm multitasking (in this case making dinner) I sometimes don't proof read. Otherwise, my juicy hamburger would be one dried up hockey puck.

                        Re: VIZIO VX37L-Black screen

                        Hello,

I have a Vizio VX37L with a popular problem: Vizio LCD Powers on with backlight, Wont power off, No video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNFzBJELFoU ) .

I have followed the troubleshooting steps in this video and attached are pics of the board along with voltage measurements. I didn't see a resolution for this thread.....however, I am hoping someone can help with identifying the problem part (parts).

                        Thank you in advance!

                        Lee

Vizio M557-G0 Partial Screen Fade in and Out
                          by bpcannan
My first real post...I have a Vizio M557-G0 where the left 1/3 of the screen fades to nearly black then not and I can view the entire screen and whatever is playing on the TV. Very rhythmic. Other than that sound is good, rest of picture is perfect. Opened up the back and did see any bubbled capacitors. Is it an LED backlight issue. I have factory reset it twice. Any insights appreciated. Hope the pic comes thru and shows the issue.
                          Thank you.

Vizio P659-G1 Screen Removal / Backlight Replacement
                          by bstewara
                          Hi All,
Has anyone had the experience of replacing backights on the “P” series Vizio tv?
                          Model number P659-G1
This type tv has a very small bezel holding the screen in and I’m not sure how the bezel/screen is assembled. ( I’m hoping the screen is not epoxied to the frame)
Before I attempt this I thought maybe someone on this forum has performed this backlight replacement procedure.

                          Thanks in advance...

                          A1502 screen only issues

I have a MBP A1502 (early 2015, 820-4924) with a screen that will not turn on. I have swapped screens with a cracked test screen and the computer boots and the cracked screen works for both backlight and image. The black/blank screen appears to do nothing.

I have collected resistant data from the cracked screen connector pins and submitted to OBData server:

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...

                          Screen Replacement for A2337
                          by kino0924
                          Hi,

I have a 2020 macbook air m1 that needs a screen replacement (cracked)

Right now, I have few options but not sure what to take

                          1. Screen only from aliexpress (80 USD)
                          2. Housing and screen from aliexpress (144 USD)
                          3. Genuine used screen from ebay (250 USD ish)
                          4. New screen from ifixit (450 USD)

To be honest, I dont think new screen from ifixit is worth it since I can get it replaced by apple with same amount of price (haha)

Now, I am wondering is it really worth to spend 100 more on used genuine screen....
