What setting did you adjust on the original board?

Was the replacement board an -EXACT- match - for example, for a 52" Samsung of the A557 series, European model?

Problem is there are a lot of differences between panel configurations etc. between 40" and 52" screen sizes. Does the original board not work at all - have you tried changing the setting back?

Is the EEPROM on the top or the bottom of the board?

It can be erased on many Samsung TVs by touching pins 4 and 5 together while the TV is powered on. This will reset TV to defaults.

Try either of these (one should work)

Option #1
Put TV in standby. On remote control, Info, Menu, Mute, Power. Service menu should appear when TV powers on.

Option #2
Put TV in standby. On remote control, Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power. Service menu should appear when TV powers on.

Do you see any service menu at all?

So in the old motherboard with option # 1 and # 2 have started trying more but the screen remains dark, no sevice menu

OK, I would say that motherboard is difficult to get working for now.

I suspect that the 40" board simply isn't programmed properly to work with the 52" chassis. It may even be faulty - I cannot be certain. But, I am still a little confused by your explanation of the symptoms. Is it possible to show a video of the problem?
