sparklies on LG V6 series of plasmas- how to get rid of them

I'm struggling here to get a result. I've got 3 LG42PX11 plasmas. All have had various pcb failures but are now up and running. One problem they all still have is sparklies- under/over diffusion.

All voltages have been set as per screen labels.

From reading as much about the problem as I could find the only way to cure is to download latest firmware into the control board.

Can anyone loan or sell the jig for doing this?

    Any suggestions welecome.

Increase Vs by 5V or as much as you dare (don't exceed 205V.)

    Keep Va the same.

    Drop -Vy to -180V.

    Drop Vset to 180V.

Those are the best settings I've found from experience but they usually still exist, it gets rid of most of them. (Note this is for X3 panels - the HD version of the V7 I think - so might not be entirely compatible.)

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

I'll set to your voltages to see what happens. Just out of interest have you downloaded any firmware for the V6 I've never downloaded anything, I wouldn't even know where to start but I'd like to have a go.

Never done firmware and gave up on V6/X3 LG plasmas after my bad experience with sparklies. Too expensive to fix IMO.

Hi Tom. Is your -VY voltage right? My set labels says -80v

Don't have a plasma here to play with atm.

Some older ones might use different voltages, just drop it until the sparklies go or the picture becomes unwatchable.

I have fooled with these lg plasmas and the sparkles before. Some I can get to completely disappear. Some cannot. I have found that if you cannot adjust them out the. Replace the logic board. There are some out if tolerance smd caps there that seem to cause excessive sparkling issues.
Of course the ones that seem to have a burned screen especially Ones that have aged a lot and you can tell someone has watched a lot of letterbox format seem to never be perfect.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

                I'll do what you suggest.

It might be worth me checking esr values on digital board caps to see if any are way over.

I changed all the 33uf smd 's on y-sus + all of the electrolytics - No change at all.

Before going crazy on adjusting voltages. Just for the heck of it hit the logic board with freeze spray and see if it changes.

I'll have to get some and give it a go. What sort do you use?

Any aerosol freeze spray will work.
