when i first got this tv it turn on then off. when i openned it found that the backlight wirers were shorted out and the heat spots by the diodes i test the diodes they were good and fix the wires. now the tv worked but there was a loud squealing that would go away in 15 minutes. i thank it was coming from the transformer on the small power board. the tv work like this for two weeks until i took out the power boards and when i put them back in now the tv turns on then off again.

Re: emerson lc320em82
I've got a sylvania LC320SS9 in my basement with a broken screen. The power supply is roughly the same as yours. If i unplug one the bulbs the tv will turn on with the backlight for 2 seconds then shut back off to standby. So your issue is either a bad bulb or one of the transformers.
You can check the transformers with your multimeter in the OHM setting. Unplug each bulb and put the probe on the 2 pins on the power supply's ccfl connector. Post your results.Comment

Re: emerson lc320em82
Could be a bad cfl, or failing caps on the psu.
I would bet on inverter side of it.Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!Comment

Re: emerson lc320em82
Mr Bill beat me to it, your psu is probably sensing that summat is not right so is switching off, i had a similar problem with a tv i bought, took the inverter board out, seen no problem, unplugged the cfls, plugged them back in, and hey presto its alive, been watchin tv on it for over 2-3 month.Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!Comment

Re: emerson lc320em82
This might be another issue we may have to address after we solve your shutdown issue. When you repaired the wires was is because they were melted or cut? Does the noise specificly come from T2 if that bulb is plugged in?Comment

Re: emerson lc320em82
(t2) makes more noise than the other transformers but it sill light up its backlight and all the backlights work. t4 was the the transformer that the wires melted and shorted together but when i fix that the tv work for the two weeks untail i remore the power boards to test them and when i put them back in the tv did workComment

Re: emerson lc320em82
Maybe check the solder joints on the transformers. If you had a spare bulb i would plug it into T2 and see if the backlight would stay on. You might be able to swap T1 & T2 bulb connectors and see if the noise moves to the other transformer. It looks like from your pictures there is enough slack.Comment

by DjKrishHey guys, i have a sony home theater power supply thats a few smd zener diodes blown but its so hard to get them. any recommendation for me to use normal zener diodes?
1. UDZSTE-1710B (9.99V 5mA) (SC-90, SOD-323F)
2. UDZSTE-1724B (24V 200mW) (SC-90, SOD-323F)
3. UDZSTE-175.1B (5.1 V 200 mW) (SC-90, SOD-323F)
These are the diodes. If i use normal zener diodes, it will work right? Question is, can i get these values on normal zener diodes? -
by per4manzHave a Vizio P552ui-B2 that is starting loose backlight diodes. While I know I can get a hold of used strips, I would rather replace the diodes directly instead of used strips that will likely also start to fall quickly requiring me to tear the TV apart repeatedly to repair it.
With that being said, does anyone know what voltage and diode package are on the strip for said TV? The strip model number is WT-EL-55UHD-A-V3. Again, I also don't want tear the TV apart in and attempt to see if I can find out this info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
by thebighat99Hi,
I have a Samsung TV, Model UN40f5500afxza with burnt out LEDs & Diodes.
Strip Model numbers
Samsung 2013svs40f L 8 rev 1.9 130212
Samsung 2013svs40f R 5 rev1.9 130212
LEDs
Samsung 3228 3v 1w 350MA, Cool White Light
My problem is I don't know what two diodes to get for the strips, in a good video it was stated they where TVS package SOD323. The Diodes are marked 4E BA, and 2 BA. I have looked up SMD code with no luck. If anyone could please let me know what part numbers or specs for the 12v and 24v marked diodes... -
by harpI have strange diodes, and want to see some datasheet...
First is smd on semi mark 211, with voltage drop of 0.080v at 27 deg.C?
Second is tht mark 5DB, but cannot measure voltage drop, strange shape and black painted (isolated) upper half of legs...
Any idea?... -
by littlejohnHello I have a Emerson research clock radio model CKS3516C and the transformer went out on it ,the label on the clock radio says 120VAC 6 watt backup battery DC 3v CR2430. the numbers on the transformer ST3591C-13SEN which I can't find anywhere for it. Can anyone please tell me the AC output voltage. Thanks
