Haier=Expect inconsistent quality.
I had a bad experience with one of their window air conditioner units, seems that a moron over in the PRC made the evaporator too cold! Mine froze up like a bastard.
Bet that it can also freeze up at 70 F+!Last edited by RJARRRPCGP; 09-27-2012, 04:50 PM.ASRock B550 PG Velocita

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
It is a just a PC monitor with tuner and Video inputs.
So post good clear pictures of the board and use the attachment function in the GO ADVANCED to post the pictures then we can tell you the test points to check.
Since this unit uses wallwart adapter, have you verify that it is OK? Also remove the batteries and see if it will power up by the wallwart.Never stop learning

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
budm, input power required for the tv is 9v-12v DC, 2A.
I do not have the original power supply but I found one with 9v DC and 2A.
I the power button continuously blinks like , it is trying to charge the battery. I heard that the power button usually turns green when functional. But it is red now.
I have taken apart the tv , I will take some pics and post it here. Thanks for the reply.Comment

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
if I remove the battery, the unit is totally dead. There is not even red light blinking. But I see faint image with or without the battery.
The main board has lot of small 100uF 16v and 220uF capacitors on it. None of them are bulged or look bad.Comment

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
If you disconnect the walwart and the batteries, do you see faint image with the flash light?
If you do, then we will need to look at the backlights inverter circuits when you post the pictures.Never stop learning

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
ok with battery connected, The power LED power red and blinks on the side. Without the battery and wall charger connected, the LED power in the front stays solid and I can see faint image with flash light.
Also seems like inverter section is built in on the main board. There is only two boards in it. Main board and control/switch board.Last edited by arman960; 09-28-2012, 09:49 PM.Comment

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
On picture #1 I can see a white plug with red and white wires which looks like it is for the backlight. Where does this plug go to on the board? I do not see typical High voltage transformer any where on the board. Can you leave that connector connected to the board and take pictures of that area. This unit may use LED backlight.Last edited by budm; 09-28-2012, 10:33 PM.Never stop learning

you are right. I do not see any transformer on it. I think led on this unit. But LED not working as back-light. LCD panel works though as I can see image with flash light. I will take more pictures and post it.Comment

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
The must be a regulating power supply close to that connector, just need take a close look in that area.
Can you measure any voltage on those two pins of the connector? They will more likely to put the White LED in series, so if one goes out, it will kill the rest.Never stop learning

Re: HAIER HLT10 No video no power won't turn on
I do not see any voltage regulator on the main board or lcd panel. All I see some IC , capacitors, resistors. Please check the board.
The LED near the power supply port lights up only when I connect the battery. Without the battery there is no light , acts like totally dead.Last edited by arman960; 09-30-2012, 06:59 PM.Comment

by usbdeviceHi all
There's two other threads about this monitor with seemingly the same problem. The problem was resolved in one case by replacing the entire PSU board and in the second one by replacing an unknown IC.

The first one has pictures of the pcbs and I noticed that there's one IC and assorted caps not populated on mine (but the PCB itself looks identical) so I thought that'd warrant a new thread.
It's my dad's old monitor. He...-

by larSSHello! Has an msi ms-16JF motherboard with a diagnosis "doesn't work". There were a short-circuit on video memory lane. Removed GPU and video memory, changed TPS51916 and transistor on it's lane. Motherboard works OK, has the initialization and video card voltage. But has no video memory voltage. Should there be a video memory voltage without video chip or no? Has the S5 signal 3.3V on TPS51916

by JimBanvilleThe sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...-

by Uranium-235On my shop box the shitty case (but one I have to use because it has two easy to insertable physical sata bays on top) for 2.5 and 3.5
The USB 3.0 case on top is a literal USB extension cable to a 3.0 port on the back (was made many years ago)
So I got a 5.25 front panel with 4x USB 3.0 ports because the motherboard has 2x 3.0 headers (four ports total). Soo I tried to plug them in and it didn't go. It bent some pins. I was straightening them out with a dental pick when suddenly the computer turned on when I shorted two of the pins. Didn't think much of it and switched...-

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.
I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.
- It started with a bright and greenish picture upon starting a cold monitor.
- About 2 years ago, only on the cold boot, the screen started to occasionally flash with
