LCD backlight replace with LED Strip Light ?

I saw some good LED Strips from ebay, they all mention very bright, working voltage is 12 or 24, wondering if someone used it to replace the LCD TV backlight.

If it works, then it's a great idea to repair/replace the LCD TV has backlight/Inverter problem, and can bypass the inverter, most importantly, it's more energy saving!.

Hope that works. Mine is still working. I put it in the shed. Sometimes if the inverter is bad and its on the same board the power supply wont function. My ccfls were bad.
