    Sony KDL 52W3000

The standby light flashes 5 times when the TV is pluged in, and will continue to give the 5 flashes. Pushing the power button the green light comes on for about one minute then the set turns off , I have no sound and no picture or backlights. I checked the voltages and they all are correct except goint to the tcon board. I am supposed to be getting 12 volts to the tcon and when checked with the DVMM it bounced between 4 volts and .3 volts. The tcon connects to the FB1 board. The FB1 board is getting the proper 12 volt input voltage. My question is, The sercive manual says 5 flashes is either a bad tcon or bad screen. If I am not getting the needed 12 volts to the tcon wouldn't I be safe in thainking it is the FB1 board? I think the FB1 is also called the logic board. Every board except the tcon has the proper input voltage. I can provide a link to the service info if needed.
    Thanks Everyone

Possibly a shorted T-con - can you check if it gets good 12V with T-con unplugged.

Should have mentioned, I unpluged the tcon from the FB1 board and I am not getting the 12 volts foe the tcon from the FB1 (logig) board. That's why I felt the logic board was at fault.

That would make sense. Does it still only rise to 4V. It may be repairable - do you have schematics of the main board?

Yes go up to 4 volts then drops, then back up to 4 volts then drops. Continues to do that until the TV shuts down. Yes on the schematic

            Can you attach the schematic?

Well I replaced the FB1 board and now it's up and running, and 12 volts to the tcon.

Great. Though sometimes with Sony it seems a board swap is the only way forward.

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                    by Hakuu
                    Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Ordered Wrong TCON Board For Sony TV, Can I flash Epprom
                    by gersrt
                    HI

Made a mistake and ordered the wrong TCON board to replace in my KDL-46HX823, the board I ordered was Sony PLY 1-883-893-11 which is sort of correct.

But later realized this board is used in 4 or 5 models, any way the one i got sent was for KDL-55HX820.

Physically these boards are identical, everything on the board is the same. I havent put this board into the TV yet, but am I right in saying all i would have to do is copy the Epprom from my faulty board and transfere it on to the new board, or is there still something else that may stop this working....

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
                    by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                    • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                    • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
