    Vizio's

You know there are enough bad Vizio models just on this first page to justify a class action lawsuit against them. What about it. We all get rich. HA Ha Ha
Have you ever stopped to think and then forget to start thinking again?

Actually, (although being a UK member) I've noticed Vizios seem to be better built than most other LCD TVs. Typically high quality caps, delta OEM PSUs. Only major issues seem to be main board issues.

Maybe AM Tran should be our target.

Yes; they design the main boards (Taiwanese OEM) and they're probably at least some of the problem. Not least using odd/unusual parts and poor quality regulators.

My vizio tv has had some use before it went out. Personally magnavox is the worst brand I've ran into. Dynex too.

Agreed on Magnavox/Philips - selling crap TVs as premium ones. Toshiba Europe and Sharp Europe too, as they are just crappy Vestels re-badged.

Oh ya forgot about Philips XD. I notice that most of everyone gets parts from Samsung. but don't have any experience with that brand.

Samsung TVs are expensive junk IMHO. Pretty on the outside, good picture, but absolutely rubbish component choices leading to early failures.

                  Re: Vizio's

Vizio may use good quality caps in their power supplies, but that doesn't mean that they are good TVs. They are both the worst and most expensive TVs that exist. The cheapest TV that you can find has much better picture and sound qulaity. I keep wishing that my parents' Vizio VW22L dies so it can be replaced by a decent TV. Its picture and sound quality are the worst that I have ever seen. There are so many scaling artifacts that no text on an SD video source is readable, and the high frequencies in the audio source are so loud that it sounds like someone is blowing a whistle in your ear. The video artifacts still exist when a computer is connected to the VGA input and the resolution is set to the panel's native resolution.

Everything else that Vizio makes is equally poor and overpriced. I had a Vizio universal remote that had to be reprogrammed every time it was used.

I saw a Vizio computer today. It cost $1000 and had the same specs as a $400 laptop. It is probably even less stable and less reliable than my Toshiba laptop.

                    Re: Vizio's

Everyone named a lot of TV's they think are trash. So what TV would be considered a good TV? Because my Vizio is a piece of trash and when I buy another one I'd like to get a good one

                      Sony or Panasonic.

*MAYBE* a Sharp or Toshiba if >=50"; otherwise they're crappy Vestel sets, at least in the UK. Vestel make some of the worst TVs, ever. Their sets are unreliable, poorly built and hard to repair. The parts often have multiple sub-codes, making them incompatible with each other...

I'm not surprised your 22" has crap sound, have you seen the size of the speakers in small TVs? My 24" speakers are rubbish too...

                        Re: Vizio's

I haven't picked up a Panasonic yet! I wouldn't trust Sony that much. I would rather get a Sharp instead.
I'm not saying that Vizio's are good or I would have one, but I have a respect for them, at least they are well build and use good components.
