Samsung LNT3253FX/XAA no picture with sound

First of all Hello everyone and yes I am new to this forum, but not new to broken TVs and computers. I am a Asst Tech manager at a computer shop here in MO. I have been lucky and fixed 3 of these broken Samsung TVs. I just got this from a friend about a week ago he works at a recycling place and gave it to me. Well the good old TVs has sound dim back lights and no picture also has no blown caps on power board. I think i have a bad fuse on my t-con board not sure might be the main board. I see that there has been post of the same problems but never seen the fix. I need some help guys and thanks in advanced going to post some pics

So the screen has a slight glow to it if you have darkened room, or you can see the backlights through the holes on the back of the LCD panel? If you do, then you backlights are OK, then it can be T-CON with blown fuse or not getting the 12 or 5V to it.

Thanks for reply yes it has both slight glow and can see all the lights in the back of the tv and audio. Here is some pics and thanks again

Check F1 and F2 (at the right of the bottom connector) and also use the Ohm meter to check C1, 2, 3, and 4.

Hello I checked what you said with multimeter F1 fuse is broken no beep F2 beeps ok and C1, 2, 3, and 4 ok all same ohms. What should I do next jumper the fuse and test or replace it. Thanks again

Check from both ends of the fuse F1 to the metal chassis. You should see a very high resistance if only the fuse is at fault, but if you see a few ohms (<2 ohms) there may be a problem on the T-con.

Thanks for all your help I am at work right now I had brought the T-Con board in with me but the TV is at home. I will try the ground test tomorrow and get back with you. One more question what if I just soldered one wire to both ends jumper and tried it???? Just wondering if it would do any other further damage to the Tv !!!

You can test relative to the screw hole metal pads too.

One more question what if I just soldered one wire to both ends jumper and tried it???? Just wondering if it would do any other further damage to the Tv !!!

In the worst case it would probably emit a little smoke. It's possible it could damage the main board but I'd call it unlikely. The best option is to use a 3 amp mains or automotive fuse.

That is good that it did not have any shorted out parts on the board.
You can get the new SMD fuse and just piggyback on top of the old blown fuse and solder both ends of the new fuse to the old fuse.
