Whats weird is that touching the pin which turns off the TV actually fixes the problem, until the TV is turned off manually again.

Well, I'm stumped on this, any other ideas what could be the problem?

What's the voltage across that brown cap?

Try cooling or heating up that area with air duster using upside down/hair dryer yet? Or resolder the cap and the IC?

Measuring the left terminal of the brown cap I get a reading of 0.322V and measuring the right terminal i get 0.009V. I just tried resoldering but no luck.

That seems very dodgy - can you check across D3101 and C3901?

Measuring D3101 I get 3.38V and for C3901, the top terminal I get a reading of 12.83V, and bottom reads 0.009V. (Measurements are being taking as the TV is acting up)

So when the TV acts up, the voltage on the C3901 goes from 0.322v to 12.83V? That 4-pin IC looks like one of those reset chip. Can you read any number?
The D3101 reading of 3.38v is that from putting the meter probe across the Diode?

Re: Sylvania 42" LC427SSX Strange HDMI Problem

I meant when the TV is on, but the hdmi problem is there when there is no sound, i would get these voltages when that problem is present. The 0.322V reading I got from the other cap below the 4-pin IC. I think it says 19W on it. D3101 reads 3.38V by putting black probe on ground and red probe on the sides which gives me 3.38V on both ends.

Would the reading across the caps be normal? I'm not sure.

And I'm also looking to buy a decent ESR/capacitance meter does anyone have a goo suggestion?

Marantz SR4003 AVR HDMI board issue, seeking for help
                          by aliougm
I have problem with my AVR(Marantz SR4003) HDMI board issue. I connect to my TV but screen color distorted, see attached picture.

                          Connection as below:
                          Set-top box HDMI output >AVR 3 HDMI input/one HDMI output>HDTV HDMI port
If I bypassed AVR then HDTV screen color be good.

I take out HDMI board from AVR and check services manual the schematic shown the HDMI signals path:
                          3 HDMI input port > SIL9185 chip(HDMI switch) > SIL9033 chip(HDMI receiver) > SIL9030 chip(HDMI transmitter) > HDMI output port

                          I replaced all...

HDMI Inputs Have No Signal - Samsung UN65MU6290
                          by dumpstertv
Hi all, I have a Samsung UN65MU6290 TV, and it works fine using its internal smart TV functions but I'm unable to get signal from any of the HDMI inputs. The optical audio out works, and there's one other component jack but I don't have the cables to test that. Checking the TV's diagnostics, the "HDMI SW IC" says "NG," so I assume the main board either needs to be repaired or replaced.

I saw some mail-in repair services, which I'm considering, but my main question is, if I choose to go the replacement route, do I need *exactly* the same board? There are a lot...

                          Toshiba 50UL2063DB randomly rebooting with HDMI-CEC and/or HDMI-ARC enabled
                          by spleenharvester
I have this TV hooked up to only an AppleTV 4K and a Creative soundbar. Originally HDMI-CEC and HDMI-ARC wouldn't work at all, I replaced all the HDMI cables with decent UGREEN cables meeting the latest standards, now it all works perfectly but once or twice a day the TV itself reboots while watching a program, the AppleTV keeps running. I haven't fully pinned down whether it is ARC or CEC causing it yet. All are running latest firmware.

I assume it is just HDMI-CEC being buggy as usual on a shitty Vestel machine, but can anyone think of anything I can try before disabling it?

LG LCD TV HDMI PORT FAULTY
                          by RossMoodley1967
LG LCD TV picture comes on intermittenly using hdmi port. The sound is on permantly. The hdmi ports looks fine and soldered in securely. The 3.4v coming to the main board is not present(not sure if will affect the hdmi port or where that voltage goes.)The hdmi cable is fine because it works on another tv.The ceramic caps connected to the hdmi controller ic is reading 39 ohms.Could the hdmi controller ic be faulty(feels very warm to touch). The RCA jacks work normally .Thank you in advance for your assistance..

                          Pioneer VSX-44 receiver HDMI dropouts
                          by RatherLoopy
I have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..

I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.

And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...
