Need your thoughts on Sanyo DP26647

I picked up a Sanyo DP26647 for $20... The owner said the picture just went black.. So I bought an inverter board and have a picture .... But it still has a few problems. When I have it hooked up to my DTV HD box via HDMI the sound is kind of choppy. But when I have it hooked up to RCA vid cables the sound is fine.. Also when I have it on a channel that has a scrolling ticker (nascar) the words are blurry.. Any ideas on what could be causing these to problems?

The second problem is likely caused by the cheap CMO/Chungwha panels Sanyo and other budget manufacturers use in their TVs. Absolutely rubbish motion performance.

The first problem might be fixed by changing the HDMI audio format in an options menu somewhere, or it might be a firmware problem, in which case it might not be fixable.

THanks Tom66..When I took it apart to work on it, I noticed that someone had replaced 3 caps.. They look like crappy Radio Shack ones.. Would there be any chance that those could be causing a problem.. Those caps are located right by cable that goes to the inverter board.. I plan on recapping those when I have time...

Yes radio shack caps are not the correct ones for that possition., You need low esr caps. And if the power supply had some bad filter caps, all the filter caps are probably the same crap brand that needs to be replaced.

Take a picture of the board and someone can point out what all caps to replace. Also post what brand the caps are. Might not fix your problem, but should only cost around 10 dollars to try, and I think its a very good chance it will.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

Make sure to mention the series also. Like my sanyo 32" had all nippon chemicon caps, but they have many series, some of which are great, some are crap. (series is usually 2-3 letters, like KZE)

The crap cap replacement also fixed the motion problem? How bizzare!

Yep.. The ticker motion blur is gone and also the sound distortion. I even tried reseating all the connections on the boards before I recapped, thinking maybe just loose connection.. But that didnt change anything.. So I have to think it had something to do with the caps. But who knows, I am just glad its fixed and will be taking it to the guys at the VFW after I get some more caps from digi.

I guess power to the T-con (5V or 12V) must have been low, low enough to cause problems with the DC-DC for the VON (about +15V) and/or VOFF (about -10V) voltages to the TFT. Thanks for posting your fix.

Yeah its not that surprising that a low 5v or 12v voltage caused the von to go down, but it is surprising that nothing else stoped working first on the tv like IC's that are much more sensitive to voltage normally.

                        I have a Sanyo mod #dp26647 made July 2007
when i turn it on I hear a click inside but nothing turns on. I checked the fuse on the power supply and it tests good. don't see any bad caps the board # is 1av4u20c09700

OK after looking in to my problem more. I hear a relay click on power up , when i checked the relay is located on the video board. so now I thinking well power is getting there so not likely the power board. I looked around the board and don't see any bad caps not sure where to check next.

Since this looks like a different problem than the original thread topic it might be better to start a new thread even though it is the same TV.

Posting a good, clear picture of the inside of the set would be helpful also, as I don't know this model and others here are probably in the same boat.

The first thing to do is check all the voltages from the power supply when you try to turn it on, what do you measure at each one?

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
                            by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                            by Srdjan01
                            Hi guys.
I'm working on my first board reballing.
It's iphone 12 pro max and I made a mistake(s), but now to learn something, I hope.
Either I overheated the board and two ics fell off on it's own, or I clumsily took of top board and knock them off. Adrenaline was high at that moment so I do not recall best.
I repaired the damage by putting these components back in place. In some moment I begin tinkering about my future steps and about the fact that I have used low melt solder (138C) to put those components back. My line of thoughts was something like, if I use same solder...

                            Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
                            by toddw65
                            Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

                            Thanks,...

I have my Intel PC hooked to my Sony X90L television and each time the power is cycled on the tv, the bottom of the PC screen gets cut-off. Only half of the taskbar shows until i go into display settings and cycle the display size and it'll work fine until the next time I power off the tv. I updated the drivers. The graphics is UHD 630.

                            Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.
