    Sharp LC-32SB24U

The stand by light will flash 5 times which indicates a lamp problem. I removed and tested the 5 inverter transformers and they test fine. I pulled and tested the power mosfets Q7502 & Q 7504 ( J655) and tested with an analog meter. With the black on drain and red on source, touched the drain and gate and needle goes up to the top of the scale, stops and then drops about as fast as it went up. Am I safe in saying they are bad? The electrolytics have good ESR and do not show shorts
The board number is RUNTKA448WJQ2. I have not tested the lamps, I can get a full picture at times for a second or two and it does not appear to have any dark spots, and I do not have a lamp tester. I can't find a service manual or a schematic, so if anyone has any ideas where I can find one or any ideas about the problem with the set I thank you in advance

You coud remove the screen and you can see if all the lamps turn on or not.
I had a Sony recently, that had a ccfl problem and this is the way that I have found the bad tube.

you have a 2 seconds to black issue, could be caused by bad ccfls, inverter transformers, bad wiring to ccfls, etc test the secondary windings of all your inverter transformers ,compare the results of each one if one is out by a small margin then you got the culprit, retiredcaps has a write up about the problem i think ,find that and troubleshoot from there
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Not sure where you got the info that a 5 blink error on this model is lamp error. Lamp error is a 1 blink per second steady blink. If Power LED is flashing "2", and OPC LED is flashing "5" it is a panel 5v failure. If only Power LED is flashing, and it is flashing "5" it is a "Monitor Temp Fail" on the main board.

Found some CCFL's with black ends, if I measured right they are 30mm X 705MM. does that sound about right for a 32" sharp TV. Can't find a part number for them so do just order by size? Thanks guys

I guess I better double check,
I thought it was 3cm which converts to 30 mm,, right?? 10mm to a cm?

Spot on ! BUT 3cm is about 1 inch!!!

You need to be exact as they come in 3 ,3.4 . 4 .mm
3 mm seems a bit thin for 32 inch

More likely to be 3.2 or 4mm Dia.

I checked it with the old manual analog calipers, it is exactly 4 32's wide which converts to 3mm, so I need 3mm X 705mm. I took my meds and my senior moment passed so I hope I have it right this time, lol. Now all I need is to find a good price for them.
                                Thanks guys

Did you try turning on the TV to see if they turn on or not? Those that are bad would not turn on anymore.
I have purchased 3mm for the 40 Sony, though they were slightly small, maybe 3.4mm would have been the right diameter, but it still worked but did not pop in those plastic tabs. I had to add some glue to make it stay in place.
There is a TV with broken screen on craigslist in LA for $30:

OK, have the digital calipers and the CCFL's measure 3.36mm.
Do I round up and go for 3.4mm lamp?
