Edit: I didn't consider the possibility that 220 ohms is not capable of overriding the AC detect. What does AC detect measure at with the resistor in place? Does the TV make a crackling/popping sound from speakers now when it is unplugged?
Yes I do hear a quick pop.

Any other ideas I can try?

Does the pop happen without the resistor? I would start checking the VS_ON voltage and see if it is stable. If it starts at 5V and drops to 0V, for some reason the main board is switching off the power supply.

With the power plugged it and tv off I get 1.65v as soon as I hit power button it goes to .28v then right back up to 3.90v during remaining boot process. When it powers down automatically i get 1.65v again.

Where is your ground? That reading like the AC detect is very strange.

I place the ground probe in different holes for mounting the tv with all the same results.

How does AC detect behave when that connector is disconnected (TV probably won't power up)

                  Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off

AC-ON with checking the connector out and touching the pin I get 4.35v. When I plug the connector in and check from the back of the connector I get 3.78v.

How is AC detect with the 220 ohm resistor?

With everything hooked up and not turned on I get 4.58v, when I turn it on I get 4.55v during the whole boot process.

Can you move it from AC detect to VS ON? This will have the effect of keeping the sustain voltages on continuously. It may still shut down however.

STBY5V was 5.02v powered off and 4.98v during boot. VS ON was 5.00v off and 4.96v during boot.

Did you try with VSON resistor, did TV stay on? If it didn't, did the Vs/Va go away or stay?

everything today has been with the resistor. How can I tell about Vs/Va go away or stay? TV has been turing off as usual.

With resistor in VSON do Vs or Va disappear.

Sorry my IQ goes down on the weekend. But Va .7 when not on and then 60.2 during boot before shutting down. Vs. Is 6.4 when not on. As soon as I hit power button it dropped to .5 then went to 190.7 during boot before shutdown. This is with resistor at VSON and STBY5V.

Hmm. This is strange. I'm not sure now if the PSU is just shutting down due to a fault. What other pins are there on the control connector, anything else like "PSON"?

I have changed out the main PSU and get the same problem. Here is what else is available.

5VDET is 0 just plugged in and 4.98 during bootup. Top VSON is 1.6 just plugged in and 3.9 during bootup. Bottom VSON is .47 idle and 3.57 during bootup. All is without resistor.
