Question: when i do get the resistor do i solder it to those pins or just put it with where the wiring goes?

Just try and squeeze it in where the wires are, otherwise you'll be soldering and resoldering it several times which can be a pain.

Got around to looking at the power supply again and i found this and i can't find a schematic of the Board.

Oh dear. Yes, that component looks like it has had a bad day. Z6 would suggest a zener diode. Approximately where is the component on the board?

What resistance do the resistors 102 measure? They may be bad too. I think they should measure 1000 ohms.

Okay, those look fine. Close enough for 5%.

That big thick trace coming from the zener area looks like the ground for the primary side.

This zener may only be the start. Something else could have been damaged. Was the TV killed by a surge, lightning, etc?

If I were to guess, it looks like it is part of a MOSFET gate circuit, so maybe 12 - 18V... but I wouldn't be certain. That is the problem without a schematic to go by.

looks like when it burnt out one side of the green layer came up. so the board is more less screwed id imagine.

No that is fixable, you just need to run a little bare wire to the pad of the nearest component. But it has been really badly damaged, something bad must have happened.

i just have a question about the same power supply being discussed on this thread.
i have a polaroid TC18607A power supply from polaroid TV FLM-3232. it started having the video come in and out. then no more video. i suspected the power supply so i started removing loads. i removed the 2 tuner boards and leaving just the main board powered by the power supply since i don't use the tuner coz i use directv box on the hdmi input.
it worked for hours until i turned it off for the night. morning comes and i was excited to see the TV working again but to my disappointment, it turns the back-light ON and no more video even the POLAROID logo. it has audio but no more video.
i opened it again and checked the power supply voltages. my readings:...the 5V gives 4.6v - the 12v gives 11.3v -the 24v gives 23.6v. this is with and without anything plugged onto the connectors CON5 and CON4.
i dont see any bulging caps and everything looks normal except for my voltage readings. i used a 2nd meter and it always was giving less than the voltage it supposed to give on the pins.
any inputs i appreciate. thank you.
